Here is my final version of my front cover, in photoshop. I will briefly go through what I did to make this cover.

I found a picture of a Hero Hero controller on google images and used this as
the basis of my artwork. I put this into Photoshop and started the process.

I used a variety of filters to soften the image, as well as boost and attenuate certain colours to give it a smokey effect.
I then added a black background, and added a very slight cloud effect to the background.

After this, I wanted to add some smoke effects to the guitar. I found a tutorial which said that I had to use smoke brushes for
this effect, but photoshop doesn’t come with any smoke brushes as default. I downloaded some from a link provided by the
maker of the tutorial, and read on through the tutorial which told me how to use them.

I chose to use a different smoke brush preset every time I made a different stream of smoke because this would look more
realistic than if I used the same brush every time. I used the smoke brushes about 20 times to get a variety of different
smoke patterns. Finally I warped the smoke patterns individually until they all crossed and merged in such a way that they
began to look like one large billow of smoke.

After the smoke was created I added some glitter using a glitter brush. The glitter is very faint, but really makes the artwork
look cool, and also looks somewhat like flakes of ash falling from the guitar
The penultimate of creating my artwork was to add a new background layer. On this background, I added a gradient of
colours which were blue, green and pink. I made this background 25% opacity so that it did not completely flood the pictue
with colour, but instead added vivid coulor to the picture, whilst also having very dark surroundings, making the pictue
stand out even more.

Finally, I added the text to my artwork. I used a font called Neuropol because this font looks very futuristic, and
looks appropriate for something which is closely linked to modern technology (the use of Guitar Hero in my case).

I also thought this font was suitable as it is incredibly easy to read. A lot of bands in the metal genre have logos which
are just ridiculously unreadable, and the only people who would understand the logo are people who happen to know
of the band prior to seeing the logo for the first time, so I felt that a font which you can actually read was necessary.
