Critical Analysis of a horoscope
Lagna is the main reference point of a horoscope.

The house where the Ascendant (Lagna) is positioned is considered as the first
house and all other houses are counted from this. Each house has a significator
or Karaka. These signifying planets indicate the type of results one can derive
from each house (Bhava).
1st bhava (bhava Karaka - Sun)

About oneself; spiritual position; appearance; complexion; joys and sorrows;
adventure; merits and demerits of the body; fame; success in trials.
2nd bhava (bhava Karaka- Jupiter)

The second house signifies speech; fortune; investment; family; the subjects;
wife, children; face; everything in the face; word; right eye; ancestral property;
education (elementary education); financial transactions; savings.
180 degrees from Lagna to 7th bhava is considered as the right side and the
next 180 degrees as the left side.
3rd bhava (Vikrama position) bhava Karaka- Mars

Younger brothers and sisters; valour and bravery; medicine; assistants; neck;

4th bhava (bhava Karaka- Mercury, Moon)

The fourth house is one of the Kendra positions. It has reference to mother

Deformities or blemishes in the body of a person are likely to be seen on the

same points as that of the limbs of the KaalPurush related to the rasi where
malefic planets are located.
Ineffective Planets:-

These planets will be effective, if they are lagna lords. Even though Saturn in
the 7th has directional strength, it won’t be effective.
The Karaka planet positioned in the Karaka bhava will have no effect. Karaka
planets, especially benefic planets positioned in the Karaka bhava will have
harmful effects; they particularly affect living things.
E.g. 1. Venus in the 7th – Harmful to your wife. But it will not affect the
artistic talents bestowed by Venus.
But do not mention this harmful effect, if the wife Karaka Venus is in the 7th in
its own house.
Sun in the 1st bhava (in lagna)

Tall; short haired; defective eyes (one who wears glasses); hot body; a person
who worries a lot; a person who has greatness and dignity; impatient and
unkind. Sun will be strong in the lagna and noblest in the 10 th bhava. One will
get auspicious results when lagna is Sun’s own house or exaltation house and
when Sun is positioned there.
Moon in the lagna

Handsome man; a person who is not sure of things. When full moon is in the
lagna one will have longevity and learning. When Edava and Karkidaka become
lagna and Moon is positioned there, one will be a rich man. If Moon is weak,
one may be deaf and an invalid.
Mars in the lagna

A person prone to injuries, hot tempered, ailing; and a person with short life.
When rasi like Meda, Vrishchika and Makara become lagna and Mars is
positioned there, these harmful results will not come into effect. When Edava –

If the 7th bhava lord comes in to lagna or the lagna lord goes in to the 7 th,
husband and wife will be attached to each other.
If there are many malefic planets in the seventh, malefic yoga or the house is
hemmed in between malefics, there will be obstacles to your marriage (If there
is Jupiter yoga or aspect, the harmful effects will be minimised).
If Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu are in the 7th, there will be hindrance to your marriage.

You may have diseases like heart diseases, partial paralysis, blood pressure
etc. You can mention death by government’s punishment or death by fire. You
will have less wealth and sons. You will harm your father.
Moon in the 12th

Diarrhea; vomiting; death by drinking/drowning. You will lack wealth, reside in
an alien land and have everlasting mental pain.
Mars in the 12th

Eye disease; residence in an alien land; trouble from thieves. You may die of
cancer/ vehicle/ electricity/ by the lack of minerals.
Mercury in the 12th

amshaka lord of the bhava lord/by the planet that has aspect to the 12th.
If the 12th bhava is the fire rasi and Sun and Mars are positioned there, you
may die by fire. If the 12th bhava is the terrestrial rasi and Mars and Saturn are
positioned there, you may die in a vehicle accident.
If the 12th bhava is air rasi and Kethu and Mars are positioned there, you may
die by falling from height. If the 12th rasi is water rasi and Moon and Mars are
positioned there, you may die in a water accident.
By examining the 8th in a horoscope you can predict the time of death and by
examining the 12th, you can predict the manner of death.
As the 12th signifies expenses, any bhava lord in the 12th effects damage. If the
4th bhava lord is in the 12th or the 12th bhava lord is in the 4th, you may stay
away from your family / lose your mother.
