Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care 416-962-8881 ext 232 wuw.mothersforchildeare.ca What's the Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care? The Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care is a project to investigate the accessibility, quality and affordability of child care services in Toronto. Why a Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care? Mothers, as a group, still have primary responsibility for child care, yet their voices and concerns aren’t heard in debates on child care in Toronto. The Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care will provide an opportunity for mothers’ to have their say on child care and to investigate what other mothers and fathers have to say, including on public and non-profit child care services. What will the Mothers’ Task Force do? The Task Force will hold hearings and discussions across the city led by mothers to gather information from parents about challenges with accessing affordable, quality child care. The Mothers’ Task Force will work with child care centres, community centres and other care providers to reach mothers and fathers who would like to participate. An online survey will provide another opportunity for input. The information will be compiled into a public report for media, decision-makers and the general public. Where and when is it happening? The Mothers’ Task Force on Child Care launches Mother's Day ~ Sunday, May 8, 2011 ~and will operate from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day 2011. Hearing dates and locations will be posted at www.mothersforchildcare.ca as they are confirmed. How can you help?
