For the start-up of turbine auiliary plant all station essential services must be fully available including all
elected boards, emergeacy battery supplis, larm processing, sevice and Instrument az. Cooling water
mast be available to all urine auxlary coolers

‘To put the rbine on baring, the following systems should be started in the prescribed sequence and in
accordance withthe refered operating instructions

1.4, Turbine setting and conditioning
For the correct conditioning of the turbine prior fo running the following prescribed sequence should be
adhered:

Carry out a thorough plant inspection, checking that all standby faites are available, checking the
tine-up of al equipment, checking ll irstrumen are inservice wd take a complete plant og.

1.6, Turbine run up
1.6.1. Classifiaton of tarts and steam conditions
‘The HP outor casing lower flange temperature (GMA TE 017) is considered to be reproseniative of the
large thecmal ess of the HP outer casing and as such is used to classify the typeof strt-up. This state is
{defined atthe moment the turbine i set
(Cold start: OMA TE 017 < 190°C
‘Waenshot start: GMA E017 > 190°C.
For cld stars i is necessary to condition the HP aod IP casings. Tals is done by heating the casings for @
period of 30 minutes whist the speed is held at 1000 rpm (note that DEH will not allow te urine to run
asynchronous speed until the HP outer essing temperatreresches 190°C).

with the IP casing thermal conditions, For this purpose the IP inser casing upper flange midwal

When the HP outer casing reaches 190°C the run-up <0 syachronous speed may be started. Ths is
initialized by the operator uniocking the speed setpoint.
‘When turbine speed reaches 1020 rpm, monitor hat the HP casing evacuation valve i opened, the HP
exhaust uon-retum valvo is forced closed and the HP exhaust non-retum bypass vale is closed. For hot
starts these valves are alzeady inthe described position at che beginning of tho run-up. At tis speed the
[HP main stop valves are automatically close

receives a closing signal.

8.1 IPloed ising (roe to HP switchover)
Lota ising is frst earied out by opening the IP contol valves, withthe LP bypass gradually closing to
smalntain arenete pressure of 1.5 MPa, During load rising check the following:
~ 220°C,
+ ‘Twenty minutes ater the sivitchover if the HP casing metal temperature (GMA TE 008) has nt yet
eaehed 200°C,
