A report of test analysis in PREDIKSI SOAL UJIAN BAHASA INGGRIS SD/MI

TAHUN 2009 (BUKU PINTAR BAHASA INGGRIS SD, S.A Susana, S.Pd-KTSP,
Wahyu Media)

The test was analyzed by using 5 criterions of good test, which are practical, reliable,
valid, authentic, and washback. The test was found in PREDIKSI SOAL UJIAN BAHASA
INGGRIS SD/MI TAHUN 2009 (BUKU PINTAR BAHASA INGGRIS SD, S.A Susana,
S.Pd-KTSP, Wahyu Media).

The purpose of the analysis is to know whether the test is appropriate or not for
specific learners (elementary school students). Besides, the purpose of analyzing the test is to
make sure that we understand how to arrange or make a test to students.

According to my opinion, the test is practical because it doesn’t extensively

expensive, doesn’t need much energy-consumes for learners to take and for teacher to assess.
The test also can be scored by the teacher, no need to use computer or another assessment
tools. The test is reliable because it is consistent and dependable.

The test is trusted (reliable) because it can be tested to all students in elementary level
without any difficulties for students. The test-taker will not get different score when they got
same right answered questions because the test has static point in assessing (1 point for one
right answered question). Teacher also will not get different interpretation when assessing
because the test has the absolute answer.

The test is valid because it related to what has been taught and seems easy for the test-
takers. The test also can determine whether or not students have reached the previous lesson.

The test is authentic because the language used in the test is natural, easy to
understand, and written in simple sentence. The topic of the test is also interesting for
learners, so that they can enjoy the test while answering it.

This test will have positive washback when the teachers not only give simple letter
grade or single overall numerical score. Teacher is allowed and suggested to write motivated
words after write feedback on students’ test papers. It will have positive impact to students.

For the last, the test is quite appropriate for specific learners (elementary school
students), because it covered all criterions of a good test.
