With Real Concern For the Third Wave, Word-of-Faith, Signs and Wonders, Laughing Charismatics
By Jacob Prasch (Moriel Ministries) WHAT'S GOING ON IN THERE?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Satan's goal is for deception, the leaven of apostasy, and the destruction of God's work! Is this laughter movement of God, or are the devils laughing the hardest of all? Jesus is the TRUTH personified (John 14:6); the Devil is the LIE personified. (John 8:44). Are you following the TRUTH or the LIE? "Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven...the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees"(Matt. 16:6, 12) "Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?" (1 Cor. 5:6) Should we identify with the Charismatic and Ecumenical movements? Are the great changes sweeping through churches in the twentieth century in keeping with God's Word? The honest Charismatic Christians believe the sign-gifts are valid for today and have true motives and efforts to follow Scripture. These are trying to be faithful to God in prayer, bringing God praise, evangelism, a stand for justification by grace through faith, and some have an expository pulpit message. Charismatic pastors include those who are very concerned about apostasy and the bizarre phenomenon appearing in the churches. Other Charismatics openly follow experiences that oppose Scripture. Once this standard is adopted in preference to the Word of God, the depraved imaginations of man or devil arise to the occasion. LYING leaders are deplorable anywhere! They include the cheap politicians and the corrupt preachers.

WHAT KIND OF LEADERS?

The television audience, flicking past the Soaps and the Muppets, often pause at the Trinity Broadcasting Network to wonder at the incredible display of shallowness, extravagance, and New Age brand of Christianity. Long-haired male role-models adorn the "glory" of the woman, ignorant about the worldwide standard of manliness, "nature," or their "shame" (1 Cor. 11:1-19). Jan Crouch replaced Tammy Faye as the Queen-of-the-painted-ladies and the fairy-god-mother of religious fantasy. What in the world did TBN supporters learn out of the whole PTL mess? What Christian trying to witness has not been mocked in the wake of the Bakker and Swaggart scandals! The founder of TBN, Paul Crouch boasts, "I am a little god! Critics be gone!"[1] The Apostle Peter warned about religious leaders who are lustful and are experts in greed. They capture converts and exploit the weak (2 Pet. 2:14-19). In contrast to TBN's foolishness, the cults on television deceptively look like true wholesome New Testament Christianity! It is easy to see how people get confused. Kenneth Hagin, is known as the father of the Word-Faith movement. He actually plagiarized E.W. Kenyon "whose life and ministry were enormously impacted by such cults as Science of the Mind, the Unity School of Christianity, Christian Science, and New Thought metaphysics."[ 2] Kenyon was an occultist![3] Avanzini, Capps, Cerullo, Cho, Copeland, Crouch, Hickey, Howard-Browne, Price, Savelle, and Tilton all follow these same doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1). Now Kenneth Copeland whines, "I was shocked when I found out who the biggest failure in the Bible actually is...The biggest one in the whole Bible is God."[4] Rodney Howard-Browne believes Jesus left His deity in Heaven. What a serious error! Jesus charged the Jews, "if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins...Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:24,58).[5]

Marilyn Hickey tells others to just create what you need, speaking it into being, "Speak to your billfold. Say, 'You big, thick billfold full of money...You're just jammed full of money"[ 6] The wealthiest Word-Faith preachers have the biggest mailing lists. Confession works in one direction, from the suckers in the audience to the Faith preacher.

WHAT KIND OF SIGNS AND WONDERS?

John Wimber of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, holds "Signs and Wonders Seminars" throughout the world, claiming healing is promised in the atonement. A sign of the movement's confusion is evident. Wimber is sick with cancer! (Actually Wimber has died at the time of publishing this article.). Miracles do not prove God's favor. In Deuteronomy 13:1-5, God "proveth" or tests the love of His people by seeing if they will go after a "prophet" who has "a sign or a wonder" (vs. 3,1). God wants His own to "fear" Him enough to "put the evil away from the midst of thee" (vs. 4-5). The "prophet or a dreamer of dreams" will lead people to a "little g" god (vs. 1-2)! Kenneth Copeland's blasphemes, "You don't have a god in you, you are one!"[7] Under the Law, God commanded the ultimate censuring of such heretics for the sake of purity - death! (vs. 5). God's counsel, to either choose between false teachers who approach His people or else obedience to His Word, is still strong today. God measures the love that people claim. The barometer is if you really love Him, then you will obey Him (John 14:21)! In the "last days...evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:1,13). The Lord Jesus warned that "many" prophets doing these wonders in His name will be damned to hell (Matt. 7:21-23)! You wouldn't want to be identified with evil, would you? "An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah" (Mat. 12:39). The point is that the resurrection of the Son of God ought to be sufficient to bring joy into your life! Rodney Howard-Browne admits to elevating an experience with the devil above the TRUTH, "But I'd rather be in a church where the devil and the flesh are manifesting than in a church where nothing is happening because people are too afraid to manifest anything."[8] Charismatics prophesy a worldwide revival for the end times. They are wrong! Wide-spread turning to Christ is not predicted until the tribulation preaching of the 144,000! Scripture predicts for this period a great number of false teachers, false prophets, LYING signs and wonders, and a great falling away from the TRUTH to follow seducing spirits! Prophecy points to an ever-increasing worldwide apostasy with many false prophets deceiving many, not a revival (Mat. 24:3-5, 11)! "False prophets...shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Mat. 24:24)! "Satan" is working toward "all power and signs and lying wonders" (2 Thess. 2:7-9)! He is the master of "great wonders," and "miracles" (Rev. 13:13-14)! Christian, be wary of the demonic deception of the "Signs and Wonders" movement of the last days. The New Age Religion also received the signs and wonders by the laying on of hands! Humanity is headed for a one-world religion that is open to deception in the name of Jesus. It's as if the cults use the name "Jesus" as their password for authenticity! The New Age produces unity with diversity and it lacks judgment.[9] Some Charismatics are even guilty of presenting the Holy Spirit as a spirit guide.[10] Incredible! Satan cleverly turns multitudes to the false teachers while making a mockery of Christianity! Many who follow a feel-good religion are not ready to hear the hard sayings of Christ (John 6:60). The only disciples that the Lord Jesus commends will "continue" in the Word of TRUTH (John 8:31-32)! Test all experiences by Scripture and follow the Lord!

WHAT KIND OF PROPHECY?

We know Joseph Smith, Ellen G. White, and the Watchtower are false prophets. How about the Charismatics who declare, "Thus saith the Lord..." and "God's message for you is..."? Jesus gave a powerful warning. Do not ignore it! "Beware of false prophets ... Ye shall know them by their fruits" (Matt. 7:15, 16). The "fruit" of a false prophet is a false prophecy!

By definition, a false prophet is described in Deuteronomy 18:20-22. Explanations in parenthesis are mine. "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word (just one) in my name (words like "The Lord told me..." or "I just sense in my spirit"), which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. (Censuring false prophets protects people from deep hurt and loss of confidence in God's Word. Do we read: "Let that prophet readjust his figures"? "Forget the past"? "Give him a second chance"? "We all make mistakes"? "He may be just 'kind-of-a-prophet'"? "Wait and see what harm was done first"? No!) And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? ( That is a good question!) When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, (False charismatic prophesy is common! God spoke through the prophets when? In times PAST! That's history! Hebrews 1:1), but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: (Stick with the "more sure Word of prophecy" which is Scripture! 2 Peter 1:19) thou shalt not be afraid of him." (Don't let the scare tactics rattle you. Mature Christians look for Jesus to come, but do not set dates or follow those who do!) Anyone who goes after false prophets after all the warnings from God is very, very foolish! The Charismatic prophets miserably fail the test of a true prophet. They claim to be [10] only 65% accurate! C. Peter Wagner said in Indianapolis, "Many of your churches also are now becoming involved in prophetic movement. And I'm talking about serious prophecy; I'm talking about Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah kind of prophecy, where God speaks to the churches."[ 11] Such boasting is common among false prophets. The Watchtower said a group was to speak as a "prophet...as was done toward Ezekiel," known as "Jehovah's Christian Witnesses"[12] Definitely wrong! TRUE prophets are zealous against sin and error (Jer. 14:14; 23:16-32; 27:15; Zech. 13:2-5)! Rodney Howard-Browne predicted an outpouring of the Spirit in which, "Eyeballs will form, legs and arms will grow out..." He said God will very soon begin to miraculously transport people from place to place. He has the same source of information as Benny Hinn who said, Adam, "with one thought he would be on the moon."[13] Astral projection is of the occult, connected with voodoo and the black arts.[14] Charismatic leaders LIED about Bob Jones's (not the godly Bob Jones of Bob Jones University) prophetic dating of a drought. Paul Cain, "the most anointed prophet that's in the world today," gushingly predicted, "So that that glorious Church might be revealed in the last days because the Lord Jesus is worthy to be lifted up by a Church that has reached the full maturity of the God-man!" Maturity? It's just more Corinthian carnality and heresy (1 Cor. 3:3)! Paul Cain messed up on the timing of an earthquake; but Wimber claimed it came true![15] Don't put up with "ignorant" people who think they are prophets and care less for decency and order (1 Cor. 14:37-40)!

WHAT KIND OF REVELATION?

John Hinkle heard a voice saying that on June 9, 1994, "I will rip all evil from the earth" etc. Lacking common sense and a respect for biblical TRUTH, the Trinity Broadcasting Network was sucked in and became the vehicle for the LYING spirit![16] "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1)! Gullible crowds embraced Peter Popoff as he claimed God spoke directly to him while he really had his wife speaking to him by an electronic ear device. Like Lea and Popoff, Robert Tilton had to be exposed by the secular world before this religious movement would censure him. Where is this "spirit of discernment"? Under "revelation knowledge," Benny Hinn claimed each Person of the Trinity is triune so "there's nine of them" and "Jesus was born again!"[17] Study the Bible and sit under the preaching of a faithful man of God so you won't get sucked into these extra-biblical teachings! James Ryle, a Wimber associate, said, "The Lord spoke to me and said, 'What you saw in the Beatles--the gifting and sound that they had--was from Me.'"[18] Hold the applause; the Beatles were completely antichrist! (Send for a Beatles paper). Ryle's vision from a god was nothing more than a Satanic delusion.

Oral Robert's god held him hostage until people gave him more money! He also made a mistake on the cost of this faith-healer's hospital. Clearly, his god does not know the future! Rodney Howard-Browne does, so he says! He reports occurrences of knowing "what's going to happen one year, two years, three years in the future."[19] Folks, God does not give us omniscience. The fortune-teller techniques open up all kinds of delusion. John Wimber said Christ could come at any time; but soon afterwards said little unborn children would live to see the coming of the Lord.[20] - That's like, just blab whatever sounds good at the time!

WHAT KIND OF EVANGELISM?

Dr. Jack Deere, is one of the top theological leaders of the Vineyard Power Evangelism movement along with C. Peter Wagner. He says that the gospel is not about Jesus Christ who died for our sins and was buried and raised on the third day. When probed at length for an answer to explain the gospel, he was asked, "Could you perhaps tell me informally what you believe to be the gospel?" All Deere could say was, "I'm not sure."[21] The word "power" tickles the ears of this crowd; so they claim to have "power evangelism!" Larry Lea, "The Apostle of Prayer" for this century, took authority over San Francisco to drive out all of the homosexuals! (What an embarrassment as he bellowed across the airwaves daily about his spiritual warfare!) Get this; the homosexuals are still there, laughing at Christians! The Charismatic world applauded Lea, a self-condemned LIAR. It took secular television to pull back his fleece! "Power Evangelism" is nothing more than a powerful sound-system -- blasting to the sheep and goats lost in their little wilderness of confusion! These pip-squeaks think they bind the devil while Michael, God's POWERFUL angel had to say, "The Lord rebuke thee." John Wimber personally comes against the devil as he commands the Holy Spirit to help and Satan to leave![22]

WHAT KIND OF HEALING?

Frederick Price does not allow sickness in his home so he says; but his wife was treated for cancer![23]Charles and Francis Hunter while holding a healing crusade, sent Francis to the doctor because of pink eye.[24] Jamie Buckingham, editor-at-large for the Charismatic Movement's most prominent magazine, Charisma, was pronounced healed of cancer by his wife, Oral Roberts and other false prophets. Buckingham claimed, the still small voice of God told him he would live to be a hundred. He died of cancer in 1992. Religious people need to think! This editor with such great responsibility for the reports and articles to the Charismatic world listened to a voice but it was not God's![25] William Branham, of the Oneness-Pentecostal cult, is one of the great fathers of the modern healing movement. He pronounced great numbers healed who died of the same problems shortly following their "healing" experience.[26]Branham denounced the trinity as coming directly from the devil; yet Hagin, Copeland, and Hinn speak highly of the cult leader![27] Various cults testify of healings and blessings flowing from their ministries. Even when healings are real, that is still no proof that they came from God (Deut. 13:1-5; Mat. 7:21-23).

WHAT KIND OF TESTIMONY?

Is the "Holy" Laughter Movement Christianity? Should we call it Satananity? Is it really Sanity at all? The 700 Club and TBN crowds are hungry for signs and wonders, gratifying experiences, and goose-bump feelings. They are wide open to the demonic logic of the satanic counterfeits. The devils are laughing over the whole sham of these public spectacles in the name of Jesus Christ! Entertainment, emotionalism, and excitement still fill a church; but as in Hosea's day, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee... seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children" (Hosea 4:6).

WHAT KIND OF WINE?

People have a choice whether to blindly follow a popular voice in the religious world or to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God" (2 Tim. 2:15)! Joy (chara) is not interchangeable with laughter (galeo). Joy is an inner delight with God for all He has done and is doing. Joy comes from believing God's Word (Rom. 15:13; John 15:11). Joy remains during our trials after laughter is gone (2 Cor. 8:2; 1 Thes. 1:6; Jam. 1:2). Correctly interpreted, Proverbs 17:22 emphasizes the rejoicing heart contrasted to a broken spirit. There is no biblical gift for a spirit of laughter. Rodney Howard-Browne repeats "Fill -- let it bubble out your belly -- Ho-ho, He-he -- Fill -- Ho-ho-ho, Ho-ha-ha." His spiritual expressions and methodology are more at home with the occult than in Christianity.[28] Never is there the slightest hint in Scripture that we are to worship God from the belly. "Living waters," in John 7:38, has nothing to do with laughter! The "living waters" symbolize the Holy Spirit who dwells in the heart or the innermost part of a Christian. Rodney Howard-Browne's meetings are not Spirit-filled laughter or joy, but hysteria and frenzy which are clearly condemned by God! This bunch is responsible as millions view the chaos and disorder as a "Christian" madness (1 Cor. 14:23). Rodney Howard-Browne likes to call himself "The Holy Ghost Bartender" who dispenses "new wine"[29] In Ephesians 5:18, the filling of the Holy Spirit will manifest Himself in honoring God musically, melody in hearts, thankfulness, fear, and good marriages. See the context! This verse will never justify "laughing in the spirit."

WHAT KIND OF POWER?

Every Christian ought to view this "falling under the power" with grave concern! Born-again believers are not safe from satanic deceptions and experiences while fulfilling conditions for demonic activity. The closest biblical counterparts of those who fall backwards, called "slain in the spirit" today, include those who are the sinning, the unbelieving, the demonized, and God's enemies! A demon-possessed son fell into the fire and the water (Matt. 17:15). Judas and his band fell backwards when Jesus identified Himself as the great "I am" (John 18:6). Saul of Tarsus and company all fell to the earth before Jesus' glory (Acts 26:13,14). The priest and the erring prophet of wine and vomit fell backwards in Isaiah 28:13. Are they different from the new wine and the "vomiting-in-the-spirit" and the "slain-in-the-spirit" at a Rodney Howard-Browne meeting? Worship is always to be biblical, orderly and reverent in manner. God's Word underscores a true spiritual response to God's power. The godly, in reverential awe, adoration and worship, fall forward in a prostrate position. There is no trace of hysterical laughter or convulsions (Gen. 17:1-3; Lev. 9:24; Joshua 5:13-15; Ez. 1:28; 43:1-5; 44:4; Mat. 17:5-6; 28:9-10; Rev. 1:17; 7:11; 11:16-17). The phenomena is clearly explained in O TIMOTHY Magazine, Bible Baptist Church, 1219 N. Harns Road, Oak Harbor, WA 98277, Volume 11, Issue 9-10, 1994.

WHAT KIND OF SPIRITS?

The spirit of antichrist will appear to be Christ. As the serpent beguiled Eve, believers are seduced by "another spirit" (2 Cor. 11:3,4). The "Holy" Laughter movement, like the Mormon movement, developed through a boy with an experience from a god. Rodney Howard-Browne says he prayed, "Either You come down here and touch me, or I will come up there and touch You."[30] He will meet God one day all right! But it will be on his face and bended knees (Isaiah 6; Phil. 2:10)! You can't trust demons. John Wimber gets doctrine from demons! He says some demons have bodies etc. because the demons told him.[31] ]Wimber admittedly does not know if the encounters taking place in the Vineyard movement are from God or the devil. In fact, he says "there's nothing in Scripture that supports these kinds of phenomena." Surely you would expect the head of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship that popularized this movement to go to the Word and test the spirits whether they are of God (1 John 4:1)! No, Wimber says, "So I feel no obligation to try to explain it."[32] Howard-Browne's proof that this is the move of God is that when he leaves it doesn't stop.[33] ]People, think! The blasphemous re-crucifixion of Christ in the Mass does not stop (Heb. 9:28; 10:10)! Rock music, the occult, or Satan's effort to destroy this generation does not stop! The aberrations in the Church at

Corinth did not stop because Paul left; they stopped because the Apostle confronted them with the book of 1 Corinthians. Then by the time he wrote 2 Corinthians, the carnal extravagance stopped. A study of demonology reveals that demons interact with the mind, the emotions and the flesh. God deals with us primarily in the spirit. A 1994 article of Charisma quotes Rodney Howard-Browne as saying, "One night I was preaching on hell, and laughter just hit the whole place. The more I told people what hell was like, the more they laughed." Friends, the Great White Throne judgment and the horrors of hell are no laughing matter! The works of the flesh and Satan's devils mock the Word of God and interrupt scripture. Could Browne single-handedly get so many people to fall for such a Satanic mockery? These people are responding to the powers of darkness. Their attitudes took a bad change toward preaching about God, sin, morality, growing in grace, and the Church.

SIGNS AND WONDERS?

One wonders why this group bothers to use the Bible at all. The focus is reduced to "will it sell?" Jesus Christ's command to "Go ye into all the world" becomes "Come to our meetings!" A "new zeal for evangelism" is a zeal to draw other people into the same religious aberrations. The idea of evangelizing people is to zap them.[34] ]Their substitute is a cheap "go-with-the-flow" message. Howard-Browne blusters how at the age of twelve, "The voice said these words to me...Your mom will not be home today."[35] Are Browne's experiences that of some super-saint or one involved with clairvoyance? People are encouraged to let go of their doctrine and clear their minds of any biblical objections. He says this is "The only way you're going to understand what God is doing is with your heart."[36] (Check your brain at the door!) Beloved, God warns that your heart is deceitful and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9)! The Bereans used their minds, searching the Scriptures even to check out the true preachers of integrity, the Apostles! Then God commended them (Acts. 17:11; 1 Thes. 5:21). Without the principles of the Word of God, how are we to see through the deceptions, the complex issues, the false Jesus, the false gospel, and the false Spirit? (2 Cor. 11:4) In a movement so theologically poverty-stricken, real preaching is very rare! Preaching is reduced to silly shallowness, subjectivism, and spiritual hype. Scriptures are jerked out of context to legitimize the experience (smart devil)! Charisma magazine admits that the pulpit becomes irrelevant. The whole blasphemous circus makes "the word of God of none effect" (Mark 7:13).[37] A sign of demonic activity is demonstrated by the irreverence, ignorance, intimidation, brainwashing techniques, fundraising games, and overall hypocrisy. This kind of Charismatic phenomena departed from the Headship of Christ, the authority of Scripture, the mission of Bible evangelism and Bible education. Now it's all a joke to them! Some pastors recognize the sham but they never rebuke the sin. Such cowardly shepherds pet the wolves who eat the lambs!

WHAT KIND OF REVIVAL?

This so-called revival does not come through preaching the Gospel, but through laughter. It spreads through testimonies, audio tapes, and the laying-on-of-hands rather than in response to the preaching of the Word of God. The biblical Apostles clearly spoke God's Word calling for repentance from sin; while the laughter phenomena has very little talk of holiness. True revivals of the past were conducted in an atmosphere of great reverence, a holy awe for God, and a deep conviction of sin! There was never irreverence, hilarity, lack of control, or giddy "partying" and "fun."[38] A woman "went to church and lit a candle to Mary, and as she did, she burst out in holy laughter."[ 39] This whole thing is the three dollar bill for the fruit of the Spirit! Revival is biblically associated with weeping and a spirit of longing before the Lord. Loud out of control laughter is often connected to scorn and arrogance; not reverence (Luke 6:25-26; Jam. 4:8-10; Eccl. 2:1; Rom. 13:12-14; Gal. 5:19-26). Such "revelries" are to be expected from the last days self-seeking pleasure-lovers (2 Tim. 3:1-5). Rodney Howard-Browne's meetings are characterized by the self-indulgent works of the flesh. The circus atmosphere is best described by, "Who Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?"[40]

The satanic "happy trips" vary from: the abandonment of all reason, being stuck to the floor, crawling under chairs, giggling fits, full-blown guffawing, stamping feet, screaming, banging heads on walls, raving, uncontrollable bedlam, yelling, prostration, twitching, shrieking, irrational laughter, howling, flapping the hands, jungle noises, emotional pandemonium, shivers, tingles, the "slaying-in-the-spirit," screaming, "vomiting-in-the-spirit," belly laughs, rolling on the floor, spasms of laughter, shallow elation, being struck dumb, incoherence, minds blanking out, an inability to stop, shouting, intoxicating sensations, ranting, unintelligible babblings, ecstatic trances, hands waving, the laying-on-of-hands, incessant laughter, women flopping on the floor, hooting, speaking in tongues, weakness, delirium, hysteria, temporary paralysis, barking as dogs, staggering as drunks, cackling as chickens, falling, muteness, immobility, revelations, muttering, strong impulses to do the irrational, ripping off clothes, gibbering, shaking as palsy, dancing, groaning, mumbling incoherently, the inability to drive home, and utter chaos! This kind of laughter is reported in lunatic asylums.[41] Such roaring and growling were common in the Babylonian religious festivals, orgies of drunkenness, immorality, and judgment (Jer. 51:37-40). The counterfeit for the gospel is bizarre, foolish, and devilish! Engaging another spirit for worship and devotion is idolatry. The phenomena of the meetings find a parallel in paganism, Eastern religions, and in the occult. Following the meetings people have reported the problems of demonic oppression, suicidal feelings, loss of faith, exhaustion, and emotional disruptions.[42] The mysticism is as the contacting of spiritual powers, the visualization, the inner-healing techniques, meditation, ecstatic prayer and trance conditions leading people into demonic experiences?[43] Christians have found that when these manifestations are rebuked they stopped.[44] Put on your spiritual armor and fight back!

WHAT KIND OF ANOINTING?

Are Christians given a "brand-new" anointing from God? We are already anointed! Check it out! The Old Testament anointing has already been fulfilled by Jesus Christ, the Anointed One! Then Jesus anointed us by sending the Holy Spirit to abide in us. "These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you..." (1 John 2:26-27).

WHAT KIND OF RESPONSE?

First-time visitors to the laughter excesses are generally distant and skeptical. Discerning Christians will recognize an inner-witness to alarm them that this is not of God! The uneasiness and skepticism ought to be a sufficient warning to leave! Given time the subconscious barriers can break down. "Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity" (2 Tim. 2:19b). Get out! The spiritual man judges all things (1 Cor. 2:15). Conscious self-control of the mind and body is a genuine mark of God's Spirit (1 Cor. 14:23,40; Gal. 5:22-25; 2 Pet. 1:5-7). Die to self-desire, and test the spirits objectively by scriptural TRUTH! Know the Scriptures! Nothing of God will contradict Scripture. The whole idea of God contradicting God makes Him a LIAR! Watch out! Satan is the LIAR (John 8:44)! Our only defense is to not accept anything which cannot be validated in God's Word (John 17:17) and by the Spirit of TRUTH (John 4:23). All Third-Wave, Word-of-Faith, Signs and Wonders, and "Holy" Laughter Charismatics should pray this prayer! "Lord Jesus, I have been tricked by false teachers. I repent! Forgive me for following false doctrines and false shepherds. Restore the years the cultic locusts have eaten."

WHAT KIND OF UNITY?

Many of the nationally-applauded, crusade-speaking, book-writing, TBN-appearing heroes of the Charismatic Movement preach or cooperate with a false gospel. They are busily advancing serious doctrinal defections from the faith. David Cloud, the editor of O TIMOTHY attended The North American Congress on the Holy Spirit & World Evangelism with press credentials. About 40 denominations from 50 nations and roughly 200 speakers joined forces in Indianapolis for the 1990 conference. Participating were Jack Hayford, John Wimber, C.

Peter Wagner, Karl Strader, James Robinson, Bob Weiner, Charles Kraft, Paul Cain, Larry Lea, Charles and Francis Hunter, and Charismatic Roman Catholics. Larry Lea babbled, "Bubbly-ida bubblyida hallelujah bubblyida shallabubbly shallabubblyida kolabub-blyid gloooooory hallelujah bubblyida." No dictionary in the world will back up his LYING "tongue"! A nun gave a message and also spoke with a nursery babbling "tongue." Obvious sin (1 Cor. 14:34)! The lessons taught included such staggering heresies as: -- baptismal regeneration, (one who is "baptized regardless of age is 'born again'!") -The gospel is thought to be "Jesus Christ is Lord!" (1 Cor. 15:1-4). -Knowing "Mary" personally as we do Christ! -A Litany to Mary (as the "Refuge of sinners...conceived without original sin,")! -Transubstantiation for the Lord's Supper! -Praise to God for purgatory! -Mary is important part of evangelism! The unity statement read, "We will accept one another as brothers and sisters in our one Lord Jesus Christ...Among our churches, denominations, groups and ministries, there may have been times of tension, opposition and conflict. We wish to put these times behind us, by the grace of God. In view of the call we all have from the Lord to enter into this relationship for common work, we want to express our mutual personal respect and our respect for one another's ministries. We will speak well of one another and support one another whenever possible."[ 45] Oh the sorrow of a false hope when poor religious people stand before the Great White Throne of God! What pitiful leaders who band together and rob them of a sense of need! How could an honest evangelical sign any such statement? The Gospel is one of the true essentials of the historic Christian faith! These Charismatic preachers compromised with the doctrines of devils (1 Tim. 4:1-3)! World evangelism by the year 2,000? How are they doing? A false gospel leads a lost and dying generation straight to hell! What man on the earth personifies real Roman Catholicism? The pope is the leader! He "bears such titles as 'His Holiness,' 'The Vicar of Christ,' 'Holy Father,' and other names which can only be claimed by the Almighty Triune God Himself. Pope John Paul II brought together leaders from most of the world's heathen religions in Assisi and had them pray with him for peace in the world -- praying to the god of fire, to the god of the big thumb, to the god of Allah, to the gods Shiva, Ram and the other pantheon of Hindu gods, to the gods of the rivers and sky and trees! John Paul II is so infatuated with the false Mary of Catholicism that he visits the Mary shrines in each country he visits, and embroidered on his garments are the words in Latin which mean 'Totally yours, Mary.' John Paul II, in speaking to the World Council of Church leaders last year, said that 'we have been incorporated into Christ through our baptism and thus we are already one in baptism'"[46] What an admission! "One" with the apostate World Council of Churches! Coach Bill McCartney attends a Vineyard Church. He and his pastor are deeply involved with the Promise Keepers. Some true spiritually hungry men wanting to do right attend to seek encouragement. But is it good? The Seven Promises of a Promise Keeper quotes Jack Hayford saying, "Redeeming worship centers on the Lord's table. Whether your tradition celebrated as communion, Eucharist, the Mass, or the Lord's Supper, we are all called to this centerpiece of Christian worship." Hayford is an interesting orator. His chameleon approach is clever, but unacceptable to God! The center for Christian worship cannot include re-crucifying our Lord or transubstantiation. This unity embraces what is disgusting to God! Jack Hayford is nurturing apostasy and spreading that from thousands of Promise Keeper men into the churches! We are not all one and the same as he infers! This kind of ecumenical unity-at-any-cost plays right into the hands of the antichrist! The March for Jesus, 1995, was promoted under the banner, "Together for the Gospel." Special speakers preached beforehand that the march is a signs-and-wonders kind of warfare. The promotional endorsement page pushed for unity, quoting ten leaders including John Wimber, C. Peter Wagner, and Jack Hayford. How could godly Christians even consider endorsing this kind of togetherness? God's commands are so strong about both defective doctrine and false prophets! When is it right to identify with another gospel (1 Cor. 11:4)? Is it time to march with their team or is it still right to walk with God? The problem is so clear! "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" (Amos 3:3). The Lord often rebuked religious majorities. Some say, "How can it hurt? I don't march for Wimber; I march for Jesus!" The sincere zeal to take a visible stand for Christ is a true and honorable motive.

Christian friend, please do not react emotionally or be offended. The issue is: Are you willing to examine what God says about this kind of unity? Real champions of the faith do not follow crowds! God's man, Elijah, stood apart from the false prophets. Where would you draw the line on linking arms "across denominational barriers"? God rebukes the toleration with apostasy in any form! You may say, "Oh, but I like these warm people! I like the Pope! I like Jack Hayford!" Do you love Jesus is the real point? Jesus firmly stated, "If a man love me, he will keep my words" (John 14:23). Will you follow the TRUTH? "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all TRUTH: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me" (John 16:13-14a). A Holy Spirit centered movement is not of God. Unity outside of the "the Word" and "the TRUTH" is not of God! "Such doctrinal confusion has nothing to do with Christ's prayer in John 17. Seven times in that prayer the Lord Jesus referred to 'the word' and 'the truth.'"[47] The prayer of Jesus will be answered when the redeemed of God gather from every nation on the earth (Rev. 7:9). You can be sure; the true Holy Spirit of world evangelism is the Spirit of "TRUTH" (John 14:17; 15:26; 17:6).

WHAT KIND OF REVELATION?

How important is "Thus saith the Lord" to you? Will you follow a false teacher or God? We are to expose the false teachers, not join them. "Doctrine" safeguards the flock. And "tears" mark the seriousness of defective doctrine. The devil wants to get false teachers into churches (Acts 20:28-32; 2 Tim. 3:16). Unity that lacks doctrinal purity is not of God. "Mark" and "avoid" those who cause divisions and offenses contrary to true "doctrine." They may sound good, but they serve their own belly (Rom. 16:1719). We are to separate from immoral Christians (1 Cor. 5:9-13). We must not unify with unbelievers (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1). Some believers at Galatia joined spiritual renegades. Adding, subtracting, complicating, and corrupting the gospel is fearfully wicked. Perverters face condemnation (Gal. 1:6-9)! Yes, God means exactly what He said! We must separate from the program of the unsaved. Expose them and oppose them! This means show them to be guilty (Eph. 5:10-13). We are to separate from fellow Christians whose behavior is contrary to TRUE doctrine. We are to censure them (2 Thes. 3:6-15)! False "doctrine" is divisive. "Withdraw" and "flee!" The divisive ones are the false teachers, not the separatists. False teachers may sound exciting and eloquent; but they are conceited and ignorant according to God. We are not asked to make this judgment about their character; God already has! Their teaching results in strife. Such teachers often cut down, intimidate, and judge. And they gain wealth from religion (1 Tim. 6:3-5, 11). Like Hymenaeus and Philetus, the babblers destroy people's faith. "Depart" (2 Tim. 2:16-19)! In the last days, the "corrupt" and "reprobate," like Jannes and Jambres, appear godly while they resist TRUE "doctrine" (2 Tim. 3:5-10). Those with "sound doctrine" will want to deal with "deceivers," stop their mouths and follow God's directive to "Rebuke them sharply!" Paul instructs us not to be timid (Titus 1:9-13). "Reject" divisive Christians who foster ideas contrary to Scripture. "Heretick" comes from the word schism. Our divisions come as error is introduced. Inclusivism allows heretics to win control of the group, then to force cooperation toward apostasy. In the end accepted heresy excludes the biblical position and whole groups of churches fall into condemnation (Titus 3:10-11).

Those who leave the LIE, turning to the TRUTH, may discover old friends who have been preaching that we should love all the world, turn to persecute them (1 Pet. 4:4). "Love" does not overlook bad doctrine! Betrayers pose as biblical teachers. No base of operations or encouragement is permitted to be given to them (2 John 6-11). "Contend" or fight for "the faith," our body of TRUTH (Jude 3)! Any erring church indifferent to integrity and holiness needs to remember that Jesus is prepared to do battle against it (Rev. 2:14-17). Believers are responsible to "come out" from apostasy (Rev. 18:4)![48] Should our so-called "great work for God" be to "unify the churches" or "usher in the Kingdom?" No! That is just human reasoning. No nation ever impacted the world like America with all of the denominational diversity. The countries that honor the unified religions are ever prone to fall into apostasy!

WHAT KIND OF OBEDIENCE?

The logic that we should all fellowship together since we will in Heaven is gravely dangerous. The "dogooder" unity-seekers redefine and reduce the scriptures until little of substance is left. Godly New Testament believers resisted all pressure to patronize false teachers, seek association, accept their sponsorship, the increase of their numbers, sending them converts, adding to their prestige, following them around, inviting them to open meetings in prayer, or obliterating our all important God-given distinctions! When has anyone involved with the great ecumenical conferences, crusades, or marches rebuked false teachers (Titus 1:13)? Be faithful! Too many "follow Jesus" for the sensational; but when it comes to His unpopular teachings, they are not supportive (John 6:60)! As Bob Ketchum once said, Find out where Jesus Christ stands on any issue; then go there and stand with Him!

WHAT KIND OF CONCLUSION?

Non-Charismatics are not strangers to a sovereign God who performs miracles. For years Christians stood back as not impressed with what is passed off as tongues and any other sign-gifts for this period of the Church. Too many Charismatics totally disregard the clear instructions for the function of biblical gifts! Charismatic friend, clearly no church, family, or Christian will function with perfection on this side of Heaven. Thankfully, you can still find churches that are very intent on glorifying God by obedience to His written Word. They are often small, but faithful and firm. Is God's concern first for our purity or size? It is for purity (Rev. 2-3)! Size does not assure God's approval. The danger for dishonor is greater with greater size (2 Tim. 2:20). You may have been saved in a Charismatic Church or been a member for years, and you found help. I do not write to dishearten you. I write with love and concern. "Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" (Prov. 27:5-6). The charismatic role-model, the Corinthian Church, was guilty of tolerating quarrelsomeness, carnality, immorality, improper lawsuits, the violation of Christian liberty, insubordination of women, abuse of the Lord's Supper, indecency, pride, divisiveness, ignorance of spirituality, confusion about spiritual gifts, and disorder. Pentecostalism started through a group with very serious doctrinal perversions in 1901.[49] Pentecostalism gave birth to the Charismatic Movement in the 1960's. Then the grandchildren are the Signs and Wonders [50] and the Word-Faith Movements of today. The Oneness Pentecostal cult came from a Pentecostal revelation. The Pentecostal and Charismatic movements are young but very large. Twisted and extreme theology is where the most radical growth appears to be taking place. The Charismatic movement is in trouble when the ones held in such high esteem leave TRUTH. It follows then that someone is a deceiver and someone is being deceived. As demonstrated, this movement is an

easy prey for Satanic LIES. Why shouldn't Christians ask, "What could possibly be next?" Beyond all of the religious excitement is an alarming evidence of theological poison! Can we rationalize that it is acceptable to remain in a church, as the Roman Catholic Church, because some Protestant churches turned from the TRUTH? No! We know the Mormon god has problems with changing his mind! He is false. The Bible God is very clear and He has not changed His mind; you get out of every church that abandons the TRUTH! "The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever" (Isaiah 40:8). I urge you to prayerfully read a book that explains biblical doctrine. The Charismatics, by John Macarthur is very clear. Search the Scriptures, and think through your whole theological background. I pray God will help you find the way. In a day when the Church and the New Age are steadily merging into one force, beware! All of us need to recognize the danger of drift. Many churches lost their moorings! Any kind of church that has left TRUTH is to be avoided. Discouraged victims of shallow Christianity often leave churches to join the cults! Let us pause and ask, "What kind of a conclusion awaits at the end of life's journey?" Would you hear Jesus say, "Well done!" or "Well, you're done"? "The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity" (2 Timothy 2:19). PERJURER PASTOR John Arnott explains his experience in seeking the Benny Hinn anointing: ``I'd probably had Benny pray for me 50 times, trying to give me what he had [John hadn't received the anointing until November `93). " http://www.letusreason.org/Pent30.htm

Tracing the Trail of the Revival

Laughter/Toronto/ Pensacola/_____ /_____?
There is some truth to the idea of our limiting God by not believing he can do just about anything. But just as important, we can also attribute to him what he is not doing. We need to be careful of either extreme. So how can we know what God is doing? There is a simple solution to this answer, he will never contradict what he has already done. It was back in 1991 at a Benny Hinn Crusade that we see laughter break out among the children and Rodney Browne is on stage and called forward by Hinn. "Rodney, God has given you a great anointing for this. Let the holy laughter hit them in Jesus' mighty name...it's coming [zapped him].... Pick him up. Now release it on the people, Rodney!" Hinn laid hands on his forehead (transferring the anointing) and he goes down. He then picks him up and inaugurates him into ministry by saying go ahead Rodney. Rodney starts by saying "I command you to laugh in Jesus name "and repeats over and over ad nauseam. This is not the polished stick that the world was exposed to on TBN, airing him on Praise the Lord program or at the Carpenters Home Church. It was raw and awkward but worked nonetheless on those with weak minds that are willing to receive a suggestion they think is of the Holy Spirit.. Rodney commanded "Be filled right now. In the name of Jesus, I command you to laugh right now. I loose the joy of the Lord right now. In the name of Jesus, let it bubble out of your belly right now in Jesus' name. Let the joy of the Lord bubble out of your belly. Lord make everybody drunk in the Holy Ghost. Make everybody drunk in the Holy Ghost. In the name of Jesus [repeated 10 times]....Double dose!" ( clip from A Plague in the Land video by Alan Morrison available from CWM)

What I am about to propose (and hopefully prove) is that this whole new movement is not a sovereign move of the Spirit, but concocted up by those who have brought other teaching heresies. Rodney Brown has said revival is something that can be planned... That can be scheduled. It is what the new age movement has called the paradigm shift, a new way of looking at things. But for this to take place the old must be discarded and replaced with the new. John Arnott agrees with this as he has stated, "We can never go back to Church the way is use to be, never." The "new paradigm" is subjective and operated by experience. It uses secular songs, dances and cliches' and reinterprets them into a Christian view (unorthodox one) anything can have prophetic significance. Rodney Browne has been the featured speaker at numerous Churches. So who is Rodney Browne? What's interesting is all the players in this movement are either from the word /faith camp or have an affiliation with them. John Arnott has been good friends with Benny Hinn for years. Copeland and Hagin have long since prophesied of this revival occurring. Rodney Browne is from Ray Mcauley's church which is connected with Rhema -Kenneth Hagin's ministry. What is significant is that Hinn went to S. Africa in 1986 and was getting people to laugh under his anointing even then (this was at Ray MCauleys church). This becomes important when we see who Browne seeks out in America to launch his ministry of laughter. Browne says I knew that there was more, much more...In July of 1979, I cried out to God in sheer desperation. I wanted Him to manifest Himself to me and in me. I was hungry...As I prayed that day, I told the Lord, "Either you come down here and touch me, or I am going to come up there and touch you." I was desperate. I must have called out to God for about 20 minutes that day. Suddenly, the fire of God fell on me. It started on my head and went right down to my feet. His power burned in my body and stayed like that for three whole days...I was really praying, "Lord, I am too young to die ." In the fourth day, I am not praying, "O Lord send your glory," I am praying, "Please lift it off me so that I can bear it." I was plugged into heaven's electric light supply...my desire has been to go and plug other people in. My whole body was on fire...Out of my belly began to flow a river of living water. I began to laugh uncontrollably and then I began to weep and then speak with tongues. I was so intoxicated on the wine of the Holy Ghost that I was beside myself... (Rodney Howard Browne. The Touch of God. Page 73-74.) This is similar to those who have had occult experiences but completely foreign to historic Christianity. In 1987, Rodney Browne left South Africa for United States on a mission. In 1990, he preached at Benny Hinn's church in Orlando, Florida. He had the red carpet rolled out for him so you can lie down on it. The effect of this is to be useless in you witnessing and to look plain silly. Which many in the revival say, God is offending our mind to gain our heart. Richard Riss refers to "1991 or 1992, Dr. Ron Shaw brought in Reinhart Bonnke (Shaw's brother-in-law), and there was a tremendous impartation given to the pastors who were there, including Rodney Howard-Browne, who was visiting from Karl Strader's Church (the first time he was there). Rodney did the offering at that time, and was one of many, many pastors and leaders who received a real impartation from Bonnke." (A

History of the Worldwide Awakening of 1992-1995 Richard M. Riss Eleventh Edition: October 15, 1995 ) We seem to have the same names and players involved in this from start to finish. Rodney Howard-Browne at Copeland's meeting prophesied: "This is the day, this is the hour," saith the Lord "that I am moving in this earth. This is the day that I'll cause you to step over into the realm of the supernatural. ... The drops of rain are beginning to fall to the glory of God." What drops of rain is he speaking of? The Latter Rain! Nowhere does the Bible say to step over into the supernatural realm. This is what the occult is all about. Brown often says These are the days of the glory of God. But this is not a Biblical teaching but found in the heretical Latter rain theology. Biblically, God's glory comes to earth with the Glorified son at his 2nd coming and not before, and even then we will not be drinking to become drunk! "For this is the day of the fire and the glory of God coming unto His Church. Rise up this day.... To drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink, to drink [goes off in tongues]. We drink [more tongues] [he laughs]." Kenneth Copeland then speaks Rodney, while speaking in tongues. Facing Kenneth Copeland, Rodney answered him in tongues apparently understanding what he said. Copeland then laughs in response, Rodney laughs back as if they understand each others tongue. And it is a joke (rightly so) this goes on for a great portion of the service. What is a tongue? It is man speaking to God, not each other and there is no joking involved, it is to be praises from the heart. This alone shows their contempt for God. Whatever there drinking, its very powerful. "I remember one service where I just went and sat down for an hour and a half. I just went and sat down. Well, there was nothing else I could do. Total pandemonium--people falling off of their chairs, people crying, people laughing and some were wailing--some were shaking." (Rodney Howard-Browne, TBN video-taped service which was broadcasted on May 1994, p.23-24.) It is later at Karl Straders church that Browne releases the people, and they drink up the new wine. Everyone was completely out of control laughing. It got so out of hand at several meetings that people started to run through the aisles because of the erratic energy that was filling them up. They flared their arms up and down like propellers, they danced in front of Mr. Browne like fairies, and they fell when he came close and spoke "the fire" on them. As the new paradigm was accepted it spread throughout the land like a prairie fire in a drought. The real Spirit of the Christ does not make people act erratic but gives them peace, serenity and comfort. What is so holy about laughter, can you imagine going into the tabernacle to minister to the Lord and break out laughing in his presence as a priest? When God's glory was manifested visibly no one laughed, but mostly feared, they got the shakes on the inside.(Ex.19:16; Lev.9:23-24; Deut.5:24; Num.16:45) We find that it was Randy Clark founding pastor of St. Louis Vineyard fellowship who after not seeing fruit (for 23 years he had been relatively unsuccessful) and suffering from what he described as spiritual burnout, heard of the manifestations at Rodney Browne's ministry. But he struggled to go because he was having a problem with his doctrinal differences of Kenneth Hagin. He says God rebuked him, saying, "You have a ... denominational spirit if you think you can only drink of the well of your own group." God then asked Clark a very pertinent question: "How badly do you want me?"

(Randy Clark, Catch The Fire '94, Test Me Now ... I will Back You Up, TACF, 10/13/94, audio). Eventually he swallowed his pride and went to attend Rodney's meeting in Hagin's Rhema Bible Church in Tulsa Oklahoma. Browne in 1993 laid hands on Randy Clark and he received the the "anointing" that he was longing for and then brought it back to his own church and rest is history. In Oct.93, Happy Lehmann asked Randy to share at his church and a limited outbreak occurred. Then in November Happy shared what happened at a Vineyard board meeting with John Arnott. Arnott convincingly impressed went home and immediately invited Randy Clarke to come to speak in a four day conference in January 1994, and so was born the newest outbreak known now as "the Toronto blessing." "Everybody catches it if they soak in it, but were still working under Randy's anointing." Arnott says. Yes, but is Randy's anointing the same as the Holy Spirits? Arnott had been seeking more as well spending a great portion of '93 seeking a "fresh anointing." John Arnott, pastor of the Toronto Airport Vineyard is also close friends with Benny Hinn. A year before he went to maple leaf Gardens in Toronto where Benny Hinn was ministering, it was here where Hinn ministered to both he and his wife and she became drunk in the Spirit. Arnott explains his experience in seeking the Benny Hinn anointing: ``I'd probably had Benny pray for me 50 times, trying to give me what he had [John hadn't received the anointing until November `93). "I was never sure if I fell down that everything happened so fast that the catchers behind me just grabbed me and pulled me back or if he [Benny] hit me so hard on the forehead that he knocked me down, or whether I just wanted it so bad that I just sort of fell over because that was what expected of me and I'd been kind of lying there on the floor thinking to myself- I don't feel anything, you know I don't want to make this or you know hype it or anything in any sense of the word. I might as well just get up from here,' not in touch with the fact that I was really receiving things of God whether I received it or not." ( from A Plague in the Land video by Alan Morrison.) Arnott of the Toronto Vineyard sought this by constantly going to Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard-Browne, and Claudio Freidzon. At the same time, Randy Clark, St. Louis Vineyard pastor, received the laughing anointing by Browne at Kenneth Hagin's Rhema Bible Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma . When the "Revival" breaks out at Toronto Vineyard Jan. 20 1994 there is absolutely no mention of Browne's connection with Toronto through Clark, however Arnott does explain how it is transferred from his Church to others, as well as to his Church. "What happens is, there's a transference of His anointing where, not only do you see it, not only do you experience it for yourself, but you're going to take it home to your people." (John Arnott, Pastor of the Toronto Airport Fellowship, pastor's Meeting, October 19, 1994) This proves it is not a sovereign move of God but people have to travel to get it, to bring it back to others, to get it. It is passed on by impartation of laying on of hands. Many agree without Randy Clark (or Rodney Browne), there wouldn't be a Toronto Blessing. With the additional prayers from Rodney Howard-Browne and an Argentinean named Claudio Freidzon (who received "it" from Benny Hinn and Rodney Howard-Browne began a laughing revival in Argentina ), John Arnott made the breakthrough he was looking for. (Randy Clark, Catch The Fire, TAV, 10/14/94, audio) "In a 1994 sermon Mike Bickle reported that the laughter had started seven years before, with Freidzon. ... ( Holy Laughter, Charles and Francis Hunter, p.17)

Randy Clark "We're not yet seeing the healings of the magnitude of the great Healing Revival of 1948 up until around 1957, in that period of time. We're not seeing that yet, but God says we will not see that, we will see greater than that, ... there will be a time of purification, there'll be a time of persecution, there'll be a time of testiness, and having walked through that time of purification that we will be vessels that can be trusted and He'll pour out His Spirit in a major, like we have never seen before. (Randy Clark, Evidence Of This Present Move, Toronto Airport Vineyard, October 15, 1994) Notic the Latter Rain movement of the late 40's is used as a model. (to learn more about the Latter Rain The "new anointing" paradigm shift makes one to act inebriated go dumb, mute, frozen and when they are able to move scream like a maniac, roar like a Lion, etc. Finally things got so out of hand even Wimber had to stop his association with Toronto. Wimber stated in the Jan. 8, 1996, issue of Christianity Today: "I believe that there has been an authentic visitation of the Spirit there. However, I am unable because of my own scriptural and theological convictions to any longer give an answer for, or defend the way, this particular move is being pastored and/or explained". A few years ago Benny Hinn tried to distance himself from all the abusive behavior in Toronto. In Hawaii someone in his service started to howl and he said we will have none of that here. On PTL he came right out and said "You have so much today that is pure flesh, yet people have labeled it as the Spirit. It's not the Spirit, because it's not centered on Christ. It's pure emotionalism. Some of what is happening today, some of these manifestations where people are barking, making sounds of animals - I can tell you, that is not the Holy Spirit. It is purely demonic. The Holy Ghost does not bark. Only a devil barks. If somebody barks in my meeting, I'll cast the devil out of that man." (PTL July 4, 1997 ) For once I can agree with Hinn. However this is quite an interesting dilemma since he was responsible for Browne's launch into public acceptance and from Browne came forth the Toronto phenomenon. In 1993, doctors discovered a malignant tumor in Wimber's nasal pharynx. The cancer and subsequent treatment reportedly caused Wimber to lose more than 100 pounds. John Wimber died from a brain hemorrhage caused by an accidental fall at 63. With all the miracles and the new anointing, none came to his rescue, neither did any of the healing evangelists come to help the one who began the movement of power evangelism and strange manifestations. They never do. John Wimber never did reject the laughing revival. He endorsed John Arnott's book, The Father's Blessing. He merely rejected some of the extreme manifestations of this movement. The Vineyard Association's statement of December 1995 concluded: "OUR ACTION DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE HAVE REJECTED THE CURRENT RENEWAL. Many of our churches have benefited greatly from this current renewal and have incorporated it into their church life within the healthy and biblical guidelines reflected in the articles and policies published over the past two years. WE HOPE THAT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO PURSUE RENEWAL IN THIS WAY." Today RHB now has his own Church called "The River" (correctly named). Next comes Pensacola. This "pandemonium" already practiced in Toronto is now being repeated in Pensacola by Kilpatrick and is even mentioned as a prayer for God to send

"Pandemonium. (I challenge the reader to look this up in a dictionary or Encyclopedia to see what this actually means.) We need to keep in mind all this can be traced back to Hinn who at the time was blowing on people and waving his jacket and they were falling over like a building in demolition. At the time teaching that God had 9 in the Godhead and that each had its own body and soul (this is similar to Mormonism), "God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost - three separate individuals, one in essence, one in work - and, may I add, each one of them possesses His own spirit-body. " ( "Praise the Lord", 10/23/92) He also was teaching that Jesus paid the price by being sin and in Hell and was the first born again man. "Hes [referring to Jesus] in the underworld now. ...and the Bible says He was begotten. Do you know what the word begotten means? It means reborn. Do you want another shocker? Have you been begotten? So was He. Dont let anyone deceive you. Jesus was reborn. (Benny Hinn, Our Position In Christ, Part 1,1991) Along with this he agrees with Copeland and Hagin we are little gods. "Kenneth Hagin has a teaching. A lot of people have problems with it. Yet it is absolute truth. Kenneth Copeland has a teaching. Many Christians have put holes in it, but it's divine truth. Hagin and Copeland say: You are god. Ye are gods." (Our Position In Christ" cassette tape #A031190, Orlando Christian Center, 1990) What does this mean. That Hinn was used to start this whole faulty concept of anointing and revival to a already deceived portion of the Church. From just a few false teachers influence a major portion of the church has ended up in an apostasy today. That's comforting, considering how many will be coming on the scene in the next generation that were influenced by this one. What crawls in one generation walks in the next. The only way to escape this is run from it. Those in false teaching are like driving on a foggy road. One car crashes and then others who cant see either, continue to crash into each car until its one big pileup. The "Pensacola Revival" is the directly linked to the TB, as the fateful 1995 Father's Day outbreak . Both Steve Hill and the leadership of the BAG had gone to Toronto to receive the "anointing" personally. "Strange, unusual and wonderful things started happening after Brenda Kilpatrick came back from the Vineyard church in Toronto, Canada . . . signs of early revival started manifesting in the spring services . . . What had been seen in Toronto started happening among the people of Brownsville . . . Brenda explained how she had a drastic change in her prayer life. 'I could never be the same again after I returned from Toronto." (The Source of "The River" By Pastor Bill Randles) Brenda then proceeds to tell one of these 'wonderful things' - being frozen in one position for over two hours! This is the very same occurrence in RHB at Carpenters Church in Florida. "The time had come for God to allow His move at the Pensacola church. [Brenda explains] 'We had a friend named Steve Hill . . . He called us about his impartation that he had received from England. He was just on fire with a new anointing of what God had given him. We were so excited and said, 'Maybe this will bring revival when Steve comes . . . '"

Pentecostal preacher Joseph Chambers wrote in The End Times Newsletter, (March-April 1997, p. 8). "For several weeks leading up to this time [the beginning of the manifestations in Pensacola], some changes had been taking place, and some of the members of Brownsville AOG had been traveling up to Toronto meetings, even taking carloads and vanloads of members along. Mrs. Kilpatrick [the pastors wife] made two trips accompanied by the wife of one of the church officers. Rev. Kilpatrick [pastor of Brownsville AOG] started to drive up there one time, but his trip was interrupted and he returned to Pensacola without making it to the Toronto airport vineyard meeting. I saw no mention of this in his book. When this series of meetings began in Pensacola, a lot of organization had to be done in a hurry--namely, the formation of prayer teams and how to deal with the people who came forward. The order of the day was: Thats how they do it in Toronto" (Dr. Herb Babcock, former member of Brownsville AOG, "Thats How They Do It in Toronto!" "Our pastor's wife went to Toronto in February or March of 1994, I don't remember when for sure, but when she got back...without even telling of any of the manifestations she had seen...a few started that very Sunday she returned. She came back healed of things...so changed that Pastor was jealous of the refreshing touch God had given her! "Then Lindel Cooley became our new worship leader. Our other one was anointed but Lindel brought something more....He, too, had visited Toronto right before he came to Brownsville." Kilpatrick showed the congregation a video of a Toronto Blessing service, in which people fall to the floor, "slain in the spirit," as they feel the Holy Spirit taking over them. Kilpatrick had followers of evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne attend a Brownsville service, where they functioned as an example of highly expressive worship. HowardBrowne, a dramatically energetic evangelist who calls himself the "Holy Ghost bartender," is known for promoting the "holy laughter" phenomenon in which people succumb to hysterical convulsions. His followers did that at Brownsville. It was at HTB that Hill was to receive the "impartation" that he'd transmit to the BAG church, which would become the basis for the "Pensacola Revival." Hill had first read about HTB in an article in Time magazine titled Laughing for the Lord, August 15, 1994. Hill said in an interview with Don Nori in the Destiny Image Digest, "We've received a lot from the Toronto church on how to pray with people and care for folks. We model a lot of what's going on here from them." Hill had been to Toronto to receive the "anointing." But sought another anointing in a Anglican church in England, Holy Trinity Brompton. Hill's recounts how he received the "impartation" at HTB. Reading the Time magazine article titled Laughing for the Lord, August 15, 1994 lit something in him. He asked his hosts, "Where is the Holy Ghost moving in England?" His hosts were members of HTB and loaded him down with literature concerning the "revival." Hill began to read, "testimony after testimony" of lives changed and of faith renewed, his hunger increased, and he made an appointment with the pastor of HTB, Sandy Millar. Hill arrived at the church during the prayer meeting, amazed at the sight of it: "I stepped over bodies to get to the pastor. When Sandy touched me, I fell to the ground . . . I was like a kid at Toys-R-Us . . . Then, I got up and ran to a couple and said, 'Pray

for me, man, this is good!' They touched me and WHAM! I went back down. Some of you, God is going to hit in a powerful way. If you are hungry, get prayed for a dozen times." (From the Father's Day video, June, 1995.) I guess if it doesn't work the first time be opened to eleven more. Pensacola has become famous for its palsied "chicken walk," or shake, jerk and fall manifestations. Even the prayer teams themselves were manifesting some form of the jerks, twitches. Brenda explains one of those 'wonderful things' - being frozen in one position for over two hours! like Toronto they claim it was a spontaneous outpouring, just like Toronto they are frozen (which all comes from Rodney Browne). One is given the notion that, "Suddenly, like a rushing mighty wind," the Spirit blew in on an unsuspecting Pentecostal church taking them by surprise, hitting the pastor in the back of his legs and knocking him over. But there was an anticipation that something was definitely going to happen. [Brenda explains] 'We had a friend named Steve Hill . . . He called us about his impartation that he had received from England. He was just on fire with a new anointing of what God had given him. We were so excited and said, 'Maybe this will bring revival when Steve comes . . . '" Rev. Kilpatricks statements reveal the his understanding of this move, "THIS IS NOT A PREACHING REVIVAL," (Rev. John Kilpatrick Leadership Meeting Oct. 1996, Kerrville, Texas) If not preaching then what? "So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." (Rom. 10:17) Peter preached the Word, three thousand were added that day. We are told to preach the word, we are sent to preach, not to make them twitch and shake. But he is right it is not a preaching revival in the same way Toronto was not either. Evangelist Steve Hill, a Pensacola's Brownsville Assembly of God, interviewed on TV's "20/20," explains his experience "I didn't believe in God, but...out of desperation...I said, 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.' I just began to say that name, and a power came through my body...." This same chant is seen at the services invoking Jesus. This is how he was born again, a highly unusual and non biblical way. Well the church of Witness Lee (local church) does the same thing, just chant Jesus. The more you say his name the more power of his presence is there. Steve Hill enthusiastically moving from one seeker to another at Brownesville touching the middle forehead yelling, "More, Lord!" this is thee same same as Toronto The result is always the same-the spirit is imparted and it causes seekers to shake, laugh, roar, fall out, etc. all the same things at Toronto. Hill chants the name," 'Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!' A peace, a warmth such as I never felt before, flooded my body. This power rushed in like a river and took command of everything. I kept crying out His name, louder and louder: 'Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!' The more I said it, the greater was my deliverance."( Hill, The Pursuit of Revival, 30. ) This is what the cults do to beckon the spirit to manifest. The repetition of words over and over is a New Age occultic technique called a mantra. as Hindu mantras "Aum" or

"Hare Krishna"-invoke a spirit. The Gnostics said iii eee oooo and other such syllables to invoke the power. When a willing subject is found in a passive state and a mantra is repeated, a demonic power overcomes the speaker. This is exactly how Hill describes his conversion! Where in the Scripture does it instruct someone to do such a thing? Hill does the same , repeating "More, Lord!," and "Fire! Fire! Fire!," to summon and pass on the spirit at the Brownsville "revival." For instance, the Brownsville prayer team, the group that prays for people at Hill's altar calls, is instructed to impart the spirit only by touch and the repetition of words (cliche's). Dr. Herb Babcock, former prayer team member explains, "While on the prayer team, we were instructed to NOT pray in Jesus' name. We were told to NOT pray for the needs of people. The only thing we were to do was touch people on their forehead and say, "More, Lord!" and keep repeating that until there was an "impartation" of the spirit being promoted in these meetings." Babcock continues, "If the person did not respond in a reasonable time, move on to someone else. Any deviation from the limited procedure would result in being removed from the prayer team, which did happen to a few individuals." ( Dr. Herb Babcock, "That's How They Do It In Toronto!," The End-Times and Victorious Living, Vol. 11, No. 2, March/April 1997, 18.) This is exactly what Rodney Browne states! Fill , fill, there it is , the fire etc.. Coincidence, not really. Hill has stated in rebuttal to his critics, "The second mark of a God mocker is a fear of confrontation and change. They are so stuck in religious tradition that they are closed to new revelation. ... (How anyone can come into a revival meeting in Brownsville and fail to feel Jesus is beyond me! I can't imagine it.)" (Stephen Hill, The God Mockers, chapter 1) This is similar again to what Browne states to his critics. "Pharisees, Saducees. wouldn't sees."..."You can't understand what God is doing in these meetings with an analytical mind,' he says. 'The only way you're going to understand what God is doing is with your heart." (Holy Laughter, Albert James Dager, 1996) In 1996 Steve Gray of Smithon Missouri went with is wife to visit Pensacola. He states he went not to get something but to see "as Moses went to o see the burning bush." While he may admit he went not to get "it' he certainly believed it was God he went to see, as the analogy tells all. After the revival services he says that God spoke saying "he wanted you to have revival." This again shows me that this is man centered, because God would never say such a thing since it is by his spirit alone that revival comes from. He never tells anyone to 'have a revival" but to repent and from this attitude he may or may not send one. Steve was depressed and couldn't fathom the thought But God told him,"I didn't say I want you to be a revival. I said I want you to have a revival." When he got back to his Church on the 2nd night God poured out his power, healing and restoration on the entire congregation. he describes "the air felt like a waterfall flowing with waves and waves of the glorious river of God. So was born the Smithton outpouring. There have been over 200,000 people from all over the world that have visited since Mar. of 1996.

Now where is the tie in besides Toronto look at what Pastor Kilpatrick says, "Brother Kenneth Hagin and Brother Kenneth Copeland have done an excellent job along with others on teaching us about the authority of the believer." (Glory on Your House , John Kilpatrick) Where does the source come from? The common denominator is traced to the word faith movement. Hagin, Copeland, Hinn. Personally I would like to believe this is genuine but when one knows of the trail that this all came from, how can something that came from Pensacola, that came from Toronto and came from Copeland, Hagin, Rodney Browne via Benny Hinn and even further back into the Latter Rain be authentic? Well this has been quite a ride (though a short one) of tracking the spirit manifestations from its infancy to its current teenage state. As it spreads further it will mature into its real purpose. The teaching of anointed ones who dispense the "it". This spirit is localized and transferable from Benny Hinn, Rodney Browne, and Toronto. Go to Toronto, Brownsville to "receive a fresh touch from God." But you cannot receive this spirit unless someone that already has received it, gives it to you. These are pilgrimages to "power centers" (anointing) where the spirit is in manifesting is exactly what Jesus warned about in MT.24 "When they say to you, 'Look here is Christ or there he is' go not after them . . . "(the newest one is to TB Joshua in Nigeria) It is not, "Look here is Jesus," but "Look here is Christ." The word "Christ" means " anointed one." They go to Toronto or Pensacola for "the anointing" from an anointed one, not for the teaching of Jesus. In fact most of the people participating in these spiritual movements care little for teaching- they are there for an experience. There are testimonies of a experience but How does God authentically change a life? The new model says that God changes people by "zapping them" and they have an immediate experience, he operates on them, they feel him. There is no such thing as this in Scripture except for the immediate born again experience of salvation. And more often than not people will not feel a thing. Constantly the people are sent messages like "Some of you are going to feel a heavy sensation in your arms and legs. That's God. You're going to fall down, or you will feel numb and can't move. Others are going to feel heat, or electricity and some of you will start to laugh or cry." This is sensual feelings from the outside, true spiritual activity is from within if one possesses the new nature. this is no different than what the gurus gave to their devotees in shakti-pat. We should be careful not to confuse the sensual with true spirituality. Certainly there are times God can be felt but feelings are to be ruled by the spirit of self control, which demonstrates true spirituality. One need not wonder what needs to take place for the church to be removed from the faith. Something must come to undermine the peoples objective discernment by either replacing it or changing it. Feelings and experience are a hard taskmaster to live by. Jude whose book is about contending for the faith and apostates in the Church warns us of those who are " sensual persons." they cause divisions (heresies) not having the Spirit. Those who do not have the spirit or are not having him work by them will often do gyrations to convince themselves and others they do!

I watched a baptism conducted at Pensacola on video and some people go wild, thrashing and fighting as they are dunked. They look like they need deliverance instead of officiating a welcome into the body of Christ. I thought baptism was to illustrate the old person is dead, in these they ( the old nature) becomes more alive. Hill has said, "I've come home with wounds and bruises all over my body, friend. This is revival!" Power and activity = God, is a dangerous road to travel on. Today's revival is filled with dumbfoundedness, collapsing (slain), stammering, slamming, paralysis all kinds of acts of violence and one can act like a looney bird and blame it all on the Spirit. (just look at the Toronto video of John Scotland drunk and singing I shot the Sheriff to see the hard truth). As of late Pensacola is now defunct as Steve Hill, Michael Browne and Kilpatrick have gone each their own ways and not peaceably. I guess you can sum it all up by the new wine turning to sour grapes. Tommy Tenney is now making the rounds with his God chaser concept to Toronto and Pensacola. When God is our portion in our life, no matter what our life currently holds for us, the church will come alive. Then we will push back the powers of darkness (falsehood) having Jesus exalted in the right way. In TRUTH! contending for the faith in an objective manner being able to give many convincing proofs. Sometimes when people are involved in something of this magnitude and for some time they need to step back for a while and reassess from an outside perspective. Proverbs says to hear both sides of a matter before one makes a decision, many have obeyed the voice beckoning them to jump into the "river" the waters fine! The lines of Christian practice are widening and soon one will not be able to cross over from one side to another. I would encourage you that if you haven't received your inoculation of TB (Toronto blessing) then you will be susceptible to BP and other "new" and "fresh" anointings and fires (really spiritual viruses) coming. Get inoculated now while there is still time, before the great deception happens and there is no cure.

FINANCIAL PROSPERITY IN CHRISTENDOM IN AMERICA IS BOGUS

Joel Osteen: Apologizing for wealth is "almost an insult to our God"

Israeli televangelist, Toufik Benedictus Benny Hinn has an estimated net worth of $42 million. He is best known for his regular Miracle Crusades revival meeting/faith healing summits that are usually held in large stadiums in major cities, which are later broadcast worldwide on his television program, This Is Your Day.Hinn was born on December 3, 1952 in Jaffa, in 1952, in the then newly-established state of Israel. Joel Osteen was born in Texas and has an estimated net worth of $40 million dollars. A pastor, author, and televangelist, Joel Osteen is the pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. He took over his fathers role as a pastor and televangelist, despite having very little formal religious training, in 1999. Since then, the Lakewood Church broadcast has grown exponentially and can be seen in 100 different countries. American Bible teacher, pastor, and the founder and the founder of World Changers Church International, Creflo Dollar, has an estimated net worth of $27 million. American evangelical Christian evangelist, William Franklin Billy Graham, Jr., has a net worth of $25 million. The Southern Baptist evangelist, rose to celebrity status as his sermons were broadcast on radio and television. Graham was born on a dairy farm near Charlotte, North Carolina in 1918, he has conducted many evangelistic crusades since 1948 Graham founded the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association with its headquarters in Minneapolis in 1950, it later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. T. D. Jakes net worth is $18 million. T. D. Jakes has earned his net worth as chief pastor of The Potters House, a non-denominational megachurch, with 30,000 members, located in Dallas, Texas. The Trinity Broadcasting Network, Black Entertainment Television both televises his services and evangelistic sermons

Chris Oyakhilome, pastor of Believers Loveworld Ministries, a.k.a Christ Embassy estimated net worth is $30 million $50 million. Last year, the charismatic preacher was at the center of a $35 million money laundering case in which he was accused of siphoning funds from his church to foreign banks. Pastor Chris pleaded no wrongdoing and the case was eventually dismissed. His church, Christ Embassy, boasts more than 40,000 members, several of whom are successful business executives and politicians. Oyakhilomes diversified interests include newspapers, magazines, a local television station, a record label, satellite TV, hotels and extensive real estate. His Loveworld TV Network is the first Christian network to broadcast from Africa to the rest of the world on a 24 hour basis. It seems that the only people who prosper financially in Christendom in America are prosperity preachers such as Benny Hinn, Joel Osteen, Creflo Dollar or Billy Graham and not the dumb deceived sheep who give money to them. It is a fact that nobody ever got financially rich by giving to any Christian ministry! And there is no such thing as Wealth Transfer preached by many false preachers and evangelists including in the Third Wave!
