I - SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ----------------------[Software] - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 must be installed [Operating System] - Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP (Windows XP recommended) [Processor] - Athlon or Pentium 1000 MHz [Memory] - 256 MB RAM; (384 MB for XP) [Hard Disk Space] - 800 MB Free [CD ROM Drive] - 8X Speed [Video] - 64MB Hardware T&L-compatible video card* * Hardware T&L video cards that do not support shaders, such as the Geforce 4 MX or Intel Extreme Graphics family, are not supported. [Sound] - Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP-compatible 16-bit sound card* [DirectX] - DirectX version 9.0c (included) or higher *Indicates device should be compatible with DirectX version 9.0c or higher. NOTE: Windows Media CODEC version 9 is required and is installed with RollerCoas ter Tycoon 3. This technology is also installed when updating to Windows Media Pl ayer 10. No features have been added since the manual went to print. III - AUDIO LEVELS ------------------Volume levels have been optimally adjusted for game play. Note however, that if you experience undesirable audio levels, you may make adjustments to them by usi ng the windows sound system. From the desktop, select START / Programs / Accessories / Entertainment / Volume Control. IV - DIRECTX AND COMPATIBILITY -----------------------------RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! requires that Microsoft DirectX 9.0c be installed and is correctly functioning on your system. If you experience difficulty with DirectX 9.0c, contact your sound or video card manufacturers to obtain their lat est drivers. V - VIDEO CARD CAPABILITY ------------------------RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! must be played on a DirectX9.0c compatible video card using the latest drivers.If you are not using the latest drivers, or requir e assistance in installing them on your system, we urge you to contact your card manufacturer for the latest documentation and drivers. We strongly recommend yo u play this game on a computer equipped with a video card that has hardware pixe l & vertex shader 1.1 or highersupport. The ATI Radeon 8500 with 64MB qualifies, as does any 64MB Geforce 2 or higher with the exception of the GeForce 2 GTS, a ny GeForce 2 MX, and any GeForce 4 MX. All Intel Extreme or integrated chipsets are not supported. Systems with GeForce 2 GTS/MX, GeForce 4 MX, or the Intel Ext reme chipset family may exhibit performance degradation or graphical irregularit ies and are not recommended.

VI - DISK CAPACITY AND SWAPFILE SPACE ------------------------------------Regardless of where you install RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! you must have at least 800MB free space on the destination hard drive before installing the game . In addition, if the hard drive used by the Windows swap file is low on space, you may experience degradation in performance or random crashes. Please make sur e your hard drives have plenty of space for the swap file and that your hard dri ves are free of fragmentation and that, if needed, you've used the Windows acces sory, Disk Cleanup, to remove all temporary files. If Windows is installed to an other drive other than C:, you must have 42MB free ON THAT DRIVE so that some te mporary files may be stored there while the game is installed. VIII - KNOWN ISSUES ------------------VIDEO CARDS WITHOUT "SHADERS" - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! uses an advanced technology called "vertex shaders" found on newer video cards (see system requi rements for a list of supported video cards). The following video cards do not h ave "vertex shader" technology and are NOT COMPATIBLE with this software. - ATI Radeon 7000, Radeon 7500 - NVIDIA GeForce 2 GTS, GeForce 2 MX, and GeForce 4 MX - INTEL Extreme or any integrated chipset WINDOWS ME d! using the es with this are required We strongly recommend AGAINST playing RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soake Microsoft Windows Me operating system. There are several known issu operating system and the most current drivers for video cards that for this game. Some of these issues are listed below.

WINDOWS ME AND SOME AGP VIDEO CARDS - There is a known issue with some video dri vers not recognizing the AGP slot of some motherboards (especially on some of th e earlier motherboards) while operating under Windows Me. In some cases, an upd ate to drivers for both the video card AND the motherboard may resolve the issue . WINDOWS ME AND ATI RADEON 9200 - There is a known issue with RollerCoaster Tycoo n 3: Soaked! running under Windows Me equipped with the Radeon 9200, where the g ame may unexpectedly quit and return the user to the desktop. If you've already verified you have the latest drivers and still experience this behavior, play t he game in a lower resolution, such as 800 x 600. From the game's main menu, op en the game options menu to the graphical settings section, and select the resol ution at which the game will be displayed. WINDOWS ME, 98 AND NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 MX, GEFORCE DDR AND GFORCE 2 GTX - There is a known issue with RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! running under Windows Me equi pped with the an NVIDIA GeForce DDR, GeForce 2 MX or GeForce 2 GTX video cards w here some graphical discoloration or flashing geometry may occasionally occur. One of problems that cause this symptom is the failure of the geometry's vertex shaders to be updated properly, and this is due in part to a driver compatibilit y problem with Windows Me. NVIDIA is researching the problem any fixes to this w ill be made in a future driver update. WINDOWS 98 AND WINDOWS MEDIA 9 CODEC - On some computers running under Windows 9 8, all of the game's movies and some of the sound may not play due to an incompa tibility between early editions of Windows 98 and Windows Media 9. Make sure you 've updated Windows 98 to include all the Windows 98SE updates. ATI 7x00 SERIES DRIVERS (INCLUDING: All-In-Wonder Radeon, Radeon VE, 7000, 7200, 7500 and All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500) - Drivers released before Sep '04 for the A TI Radeon series were problematic in supporting DirectX and the "specularity" an d "radiosity" features of some Radeon video cards, especially the 7x00 series. If you are an owner of one these video cards, you should update your drivers to the latest version. INTEL EXTREME VIDEO CHIPSETS - Many computers have the video chipset on the moth erboard negating the need for a video card. Some of these have the Intel Extrem e video chipset. Be aware that the Extreme does not have hardware T&L or vertex shaders and in some cases you may experience performance degradation while play

ing. To remedy this, start RCT3 and open the game options control panel, and th en select the video options page. Here you will notice several sliders that adj ust the various video settings supported by the game. In some rare instances, th e game's auto-configuration feature may not correctly identify your video hardwa re and these sliders may not be at the optimal settings for your computer. Adju st the sliders to the left to reduce the workload required by each of these sett ings and set the game to run in the 800 x 600 resolution setting. Also be advise d that the Extreme video chipset shares your system memory to be used for video memory. You may achieve better performance by adding more system memory. For mo re information on configuring a computer equipped with this family of chipsets, visit the Intel website at the following address: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel915g NOTEBOOKS AND LAPTOPS EQUIPPED WITH GEFORCE FX GO5X00 CHIPSETS (INCLUDING: 5100, 5200, 5600, 5650 and 5700) - Some users may experience unexpected graphical cor ruption while playing RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! at the game's highest reso lutions. The symptom is evident as the game displays its "sunset" sequence wher e there are many lamps or reflective water in the scene and planes of solid text ures may appear to be cutting through a scene. To avoid this symptom, reduce the resolution of the game to run at 1024 x 768 or lower. Also adjust the display resolution of your notebookto match the resolution at which you are playing the game. VIDEO CARD MEMORY - Some video cards share your computer's system memory. For b est results, install the latest drivers for your hardware. Also consult the doc umentation for your video card and your computer's motherboard for optimal BIOS settings for your video card. OLDER 32MB VIDEO CARDS WITHOUT HARDWARE T&L - Many early 32MB video cards are to o old to use some of the advanced graphical features of DirectX 9 (and newer), f eatures that are required for the 3D technology used by RCT3 such as hardware ac celerated transforms and lighting (or Hardware T&L) as well as pixel shaders. I f you are unsure if your video card is equipped with Hardware T&L and pixel shad ers, consult the documentation (which if hardware T&L is included will be listed as one of the technical features included in the card) or contact the manufactu re. MULTIPLE MONITORS - RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! may change the resolution of your primary monitor. On a computer with multiple monitors you may experience u ndesirable results. For best results, disable the "EXTEND MY WINDOWS DESKTOP TO THIS MONITOR" option on all monitors other than your primary display. SOUND CARDS WITH 5.1 (OR MORE) CHANNELS - The audio output from RollerCoaster Ty coon 3: Soaked! is restricted to stereo only unless you have a PC equipped with a Dolby Digital Live chipset, in which case it offers full Dolby Digital 5.1 sur round sound. Computers equipped with equipped with sound cards offering 5.1 audi o channels (or more) will not have any sound playing on any of the extra channel s, only stereo (front L and R). Some sound cards have settings that allow you to send the left and right audio signals to the other speakers connected to the co mputer.
