Matthew 5: 1-12
1

When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on the mountainside, and after he sat down and the disciples had gathered around, 2 Jesus began to teach them:

Blessed are those who are poor In spirit: the kindom of heaven Is theirs. Blessed are those who are mourning: they will be consoled. Blessed are those who are gentle: they will Inherit the land. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice: they will have their fill. Blessed are those who show mercy to others: they will be shown mercy. Blessed are those whose hearts are clean: they will see God. Blessed are those who work for peace: they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of their struggle for justice: the kindom of heaven is theirs. You are fortunate when others insult you and persecute you and utter

every kind of slander against you because of me. 12 Be glad and rejoice, for your reward in heaven is great; they persecuted the prophets before you in the very same way.

Luke 6:20-26
20

Looking at the disciples, Jesus said: You who are poor are blessed, for the reign of God is yours. You who hunger now are blessed, for youll be filled. You who weep now are blessed, for youll laugh. You are blessed when people hate you, when they scorn and insult you and spurn your name as evil because of the chosen one. On the day they do so, rejoice and be glad: your reward will be great in heaven, for their ancestors treated the prophets the same way. But woe to you rich, for you are now receiving your comfort in full. Woe to you who are full, for youll go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for youll weep in your grief. Woe to you when all speak well of you, for their ancestors treated the false prophets in the same way

Psalm 34
By David Written when he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who drove him away and he escaped

I will bless YHWH always: praise will continually be on my lips! My soul will boast about YHWH let the oppressed hear It and be glad! Glorify YHWH with me, and let us exalt Gods Name together! I sought YHWH, who answered me and freed me from all my fears. Those who look to YHWH are radiant, and their faces are never covered with shame. The poor called out; YHWH heard and saved them from all their troubles. The angel of YHWH encamps around those who revere God, and rescues them, Taste and see how good YHWH is! Happiness comes to those who take refuge in YHWH. Holy people of God, revere YHWH for those who stand in awe of God lack nothing. The young lion may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek YHWH will lack no good thing. Come, children, listen to me! I will teach you reverence for YHWH. Which of you loves life, and wants to enjoy a long life of prosperity? Then keep your tongue from gossip and your lips from telling lies; turn away from bad and practice good: seek peace and pursue It. The eyes of YHWH are on those who do Justice, and Gods ears are open to their cry. The face of YHWH is turned against evildoers to cut off their memory from the earth. But the Just cry out, and YHWH hears, and saves them from all their troubles.

YHWH is close to the brokenhearted and rescues those whose spirits are crushed. Many are the afflictions of the just; but YHWH delivers them from all their troubles. YHWH protects their very bones, and not one of them will be broken. Calamity will strike down these vicious curs, and the haters of Justice will be condemned. YHWH ransoms the lives of the faithful, and none who take refuge in God will see punishment.

Matthew 20: 1-7

1

The kindom of heaven is like the owner of an estate who went out at dawn to hire workers for the vineyard. 2 After reaching an agreement with them for the usual daily wage, the owner sent them out to the vineyard.
3

About mid-morning, the owner came out and saw others standing around the marketplace without work, 4 and said to them, You go along to my vineyard and I will pay you whatever is fair. 5 At that they left. Around noon and again in the mid-afternoon, the owner came out and did the same. 6 Finally, going out late in the afternoon, the owner found still others standing around and said to them, Why have you been standing here idle all day?
7

No one has hired us, they replied.

The owner said, You go to my vineyard, too.
