The southern reach of the San Simeon fault zone is interpreted to trend N38W for 28 km from San Simeon Bay to its termination off Point Estero. PG&E LTSP (1988) Detailed analyses show that the San Simeon and Hosgri fault zones are distinct basementinvolved faults that terminate in the near-offshore region Where these faults overlap, they form a 5-km-wide, 15-km-long, en-echelon right stepover.
