Introductions using pictures

Ask participants to draw a picture/pictures on flip chart paper showing specific items about themselves eg where they are from, hobbies, last holiday etc. They can then present this to class to introduce themselves. Alternatively you can choose someone randomly to present somebody elses drawingand see how their description compares to reality! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------

Introduce each other

Have the room split into pairs and interview each other. Instead of introducing themselves, they will introduce/present the person they interviewed.

The name game

Get all participants to stand in a circle. First person begins by saying their name including an adjective eg Happy Henry/ Terrible Thomas. The next person then repeats the name and then adds their own eg st nd Happy Henry, Noisy Natalie. The third person then repeats the 1 person, 2 person and then adds their own. Keep going until you get to the final person in the circle who will obviously have to repeat the names of everyone. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------PRINTING IS REQUIRED FOR THE FOLLOWING TWO ICEBREAKERS

Flag game
Split the class in half. One half of the class are given country names and the other half are given country flags. Each person needs to match their country with the right flag. Once they are in pairs you can then get them to introduce each other (as above)

Find someone who..

Tell the group that they will be interviewing fellow participants to find someone who fits each of the different scenarios included on the questionnaire. They can only use the same person for more than one scenario. You will need to provide a copy of the following questionnaire to each participant.
