The college calendar is based around two semesters - July to December and January to June.

KYUEM accepts students for its A-Level programmes in July and January. Prospective students may approach the College for information and application forms at any time. Admission is dependent on success in public examinations and whilst the majority of students receive major scholarship awards from Malaysian corporations, privately sponsored students are also very welcome. Students will receive an offer letter and be asked to register, if they accept the place. A registration fee is payable. Students are expected to have good academic ability. A-levels are challenging and students must have good numerical skills and a high standard of English. There are three academic streams: Arts, Mathematics and Science. Students may choose a combination of subjects from either of the streams. All students also take English language, as well as Malaysian Studies, Islamic Studies, Moral Studies and Key Skills Courses including ICT. We would expect a prospective student to gain at least the following grades at SPM level (or equivalent);
