2nd Body Paragraph

Dylan Morrongiello 1/21/09 Pd. 1

Another motive for Friar Laurence s motivation to help Romeo and Juliet is his desire to end the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets. In Act 2, after Romeo has asked the friar to perform the marriage between him and Juliet, he tells Romeo that this happy alliance can turn your households rancor to pure love. (Shakespeare 776). The friar believes that the relationship between Romeo and Juliet will cause the feuding families to set aside their differences and live together in peace. They could set the perfect example of peace between the two families. Friar Laurence is determined to end the constant fighting between the Capulets and the Montagues.
