Report on Uganda Christian Universitys Moot Program The following is a brief overview of the International competitions that students

from UCU have participated in within since 2009: 3 Moots in Washington, D.C., U.S.A (Jessup) with five team members on each of the three teams. 3 making the trip in 2009 and 2010, and 4 making the trip in 2011. (These teams are the only teams to represent Uganda in Jessup Competition in each of the last three years.) 1 Moot in Jodhpur, India (M.M. Singhvi) in 2010. Three team members. Two made the trip to India. (This team had the highest combined brief score in the competition and advanced to the quarterfinal round) 1 Moot in Hyderabad, India (Commonwealth) in 2011. Two team members, both made the trip. 1 Moot in Benin (African Human Rights) in 2010. Same team members as the ones who went to Hyderabad, both made the trip. (This team finished the highest of all competitors from East Africa.) 1 Moot in Pretoria, S.A. in 2011. Two team members, both made the trip. (This team finished ninth among English speaking teams in the competition) 2 Moots in Arusha (ICRC). One UCU student on the Makerere team in 2009. Three UCU team members in 2010. (The 2010 team qualified for the African Round in Arusha by winning the national competition held in Uganda.) 2 Moots in Rwanda (East Africa Human Rights). One in 2009 and one in 2011. We had two students make the trip for each moot. In addition to the above we have conducted 3 internal moot court competitions since 2009 and have participated in three national moot court competitions (2 ICRC Uganda, 1 APILU).
