Christian Leadership as

a Faith-Journey
Seeing with a Vision
and Doing with a Mission
through Formation towards
Transformation

WHY?
• Why am I here?
• Why am I doing
this/these
thing/s?
• Why did I choose
to dream/aspire
for this vision?
FUNCTIONALISM

on one’s tasks,
capacities and

dangerous.

Leadership
The Christian Leader
• GIFTED by the
GIVER

• TASKED=
• COMMISSIONED
Whose MISSION are
we taking?
Whose mission are we doing?
To lead with a mission
must be accompanied
with

FORMATION.
FORMATION is not only
GIVING INFORMATION
but it is essentially « a
companion » on our
JOURNEY towards
TRANSFORMATION.
Three Observations:
• A movement from SELF to OTHERS
• A dynamism between VISION and
MISSION
• A link between FORMATION and
TRANSFORMATION
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP
as a FAITH-JOURNEY
Let us reflect.
• As a Christian Leader for 5, 10, 15 years
or more, how do I see myself?
• Am I growing integrally in my Christian
Faith?
• Where am I in my journey?
• Do I lead them to Christ and to His vision
or do I lead them to myself and to my own
vision?
No matter how long we
have been in our service
as Christian Leaders, we
still are not exempted to
receive PROPER
CHRISTIAN
FORMATION through
CATECHESIS!
Catechesis is…………………

• Formation in the
FAITH in order to
make it alive,
conscious, active
and fruitful.
Catechesis is ……………….

• A nourishment that
sustains our
Christian Faith and
Life in season and
in out of season.
(cf. The Parable of
the Sower)
CHRISTIAN FAITH
makes our type of
leadership unique from
other types of
leadership.
The Aim of Catechesis
vis-a-vis CHRISTIAN
LEADERSHIP
That as Christian
Leaders we think, we
love and we act in all
things like Jesus!
