The Effect of Artificial Color to the Finch’s Reproductive

Capability
Problem: How does adding artificial color affect the reproductive capability of a finch?

Hypothesis: I think that if color added attracts the finch such as in birds of paradise and
bower birds which uses color to attract mates by giving the ideal color it will choose that
male.

Experimental Design:

Variables:
Responding: The male that the female chooses
Manipulated: The birds that have been added with color
Controlled: The untouched bird with no color added

Materials: 4 finches(3 male, 1 female), 4 small cages, 2 red and green bands

Procedure: Position the three cages in front of the cage with the female. Put the three
male birds in the cages and attach the bands to two birds and observe which bird the
female chooses.
