7, RMM Agastya is a movement led by entrepreneurs, educators, scientists, teachers, and children to revitalize & transform primary an secondary education in India & provide an affordable education model that can be replicated anywhere in the world. Agastya seeks to transform and stimulate the thinking of rural children and teachers. It does this by bringing hands-on science education to rural Government schools spread across the southern India which provides an altogether different learning experience to rural India. It is one of the largest mobile science education programs for less advantaged children and rural teachers in the world.The learning process is emphasized, thus creating India as a community producing leaders and problem solvers. It also helps to build leadership skills. Agastya works on following four pillars of wisdom: Creative learning Teacher education Ecology Culture and philosophy

Agastya works by idea generation, using existing resources like primary schools, touching the lives of rural population, multi-skilled, collaborative team of urban and rural educators. Scientists and business executives work in partnership with village instructors, local and state governments and primary institutions. It also runs rural workshops and mobile labs to taking learning to the underprivileged. Some major initiatives that they have undertaken to achieve their goals

Planted over 17,000 trees (110 species) on campus and surrounding areas, which will in time help to transform the local ecosystem Reached children directly through Mobile Labs and Science Fairs. Conducted programs in Science, Math, Memory Development, Art, Sculpture, Ecology, English; Creativity, Teamwork, Leadership and Motivation skills programs. Established a major Creativity Lab on its rural campus in Gudivanka, two and a half hours by road from Bangalore.

This initiative is quite welcoming as it is already serving three states with the current resources and also, it is very promising because of its scalability and replicability. The initiative has given a whole new dimension to education. It has raised the aspiration of every promising individual in rural India who is ready to work hard.
