    DISTANCE MEASUREMENT

    CONDITION OF TAPING
    Taping must always be straight and must not be twisted. Use chaining arrows for intermediate points. Taping must be horizontal if possible. Make the taping on the ground if possible. Slope measurement must be reduced.

    TAPING PROCEDURE
    All distances are presumed to be horizontal distances and not surfaces distances. If not reduce it mathematically.

    TAPE CORRECTIONS
    Standardization correction = L(l-l)/l Where : L = recorded length of line l = nominal length of field tape (30m) l= standardization length of field tape

    SLOPE CORRECTION
    Slope correction = Lcosx or L(1-cosx) This correction is always ve as the slope distance always longer than the horizontal distance required.
