What is a Triangle ?

 Geometric figure consisting of three

points called vertices, connected by
three sides.
Triangles are differentiated by length of
sides or by the angles made on vertices.
RIGHT ANGLE TRIANGLE
1. Draw a ray of length L and
cut a line AB from it.
2. On the point A, draw a
perpendicular by using
Compass.
3. Mark point C on it by which
AC line is drawn.
4. Join the point BC.
5. Now ABC is required right
angle triangle.
Properties:-
1.BC2=AC2+AB2
(By Pythagoras Theorem)
EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE
1. Draw a ray L and cut a
line of length
AB from it.
2. Now keep the compass
at point A and draw an
arc of length AB.
3. Now keep the compass
at point B and draw an
arc of length AB.
4. Both the arc cut at the
point c.
5. Now ABC is required
equilateral triangle.
PROPERTIES
1. All the three side are equal.
2. A perpendicular draw from C on the base
AB divide the triangle into two equal parts.
3. At the point of intersection draw from all the
vertices are called centroid.
4. The point of intersection of perpendicular is
orthocenter.
SCALENE TRIANGLE
1. Draw a ray of length L and cut a
line of length AB from it.
2. Now keep the compass at point
A and draw an arc of length AC.
3. Also draw a arc of length BC
which cuts the first arc at the
point C.
4. Joint the point AC and BC.
5. Now ABC is the required scalen
triangle.
Properties:-
1.All the three sides are unequal.
2.All the angles at the vertices are
unequal.
ISOSCELES
1. Draw a ray of length L
and cut a line of length
AB from it.
2. Now keep the compass
at point A and draw an
arc of length AC from it.
3. Now keep the compass
at point B and draw an
arc of length AC,which
cuts the first arc drawn
from point A, at the point
C.
4. Now ABC is the required
isosceles triangle.
PROPERTIES
• The two sides are equal i.e AC = BC.
• Angle are equal of equal sides.
• A perpendicular draw from point C on the
base AC ,divides the triangle into two
equal right angle triangle.
