October 5, 2011 Ms. Beverly Friedman Custodian of Records New Mexico Public Education Department 300 Don Gaspar Santa Fe, NM 87501 Dear Custodian of Records: Pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (NMSA 1978 Article 14, Chapter 2) I hereby request to view and copy (or receive via electronic communication) the following records: 1) A copy of the requisition for services, purchase order and contract for the 6/9/11 contract between the New Mexico Public Education Department and Matthews Fox PC (PO # 0000034786). 2) Job description for the position of Director of Choices for Parents and the names of the individuals involved with the creation of the job description. 3) The names and resumes of any applicants for the position of Director of Choices for Parents. 4) Any and all Emails between Matthews Fox PC, Patricia Matthews, Susan Fox and the Director of PED, PED staff including those to the State Personnel Office leading up to the creation of the Director of Choices for Parents position. 5) Any and all written communications between Matthews Fox or Patty Matthews and Director of PED or PED staff concerning disclosure of any outstanding charter school contracts, legal fees, receivables from any charter school clients of Patricia Matthews, Matthews Fox, Susan Fox and the Charter Law Firm. 6) Dissolution agreement for Matthews Fox including distribution of receivables. 7) Any email communications between Patricia Matthews, Director of Choices for Parents and any of the charter schools who received legal services from Patricia Matthews during her time with Matthews Fox. 8) Any email communications between Patricia Matthews, Director of Choices for Parents, and Susan Fox, formerly of Matthews Fox, currently of the Charter Law Firm.
