October 6, 2011 Ms. Beverly Friedman Custodian of Records New Mexico Public Education Department 300 Don Gaspar Santa Fe, NM 87501 Dear Custodian of Records: Pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (NMSA 1978 Article 14, Chapter 2) I hereby request to view and copy (or receive via electronic communication) the following records: 1) A copy of the requisition for services, purchase order and contract(s) and invoices between the New Mexico Public Education Department and Teach For America. Purchase order 0000033552 dated 1/11/11. 2) Any and all Job descriptions, requisitions for service, purchase orders, invoices and contracts including payments to Karina Vanderbilt and Shafeeq Shamsid-Deen, with the New Mexico Public Education Department. 3) Any and all written communications and emails between Karina Vanderbilt, Shafeeq Shamsid-Deen and Teach For America with any New Mexico Public Education Department director, employee or officer and members of the New Mexico Effective Teaching Task Force. 4) All sole source contracts issued, amended or extended by the New Mexico PED from January 1, 2011 to the present including requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and payments. 5) Any and all written communications including emails between Hanna Skandera and Teach For America. 6) All requests for travel vouchers, expenses, travel dates, locations and any outside sources making payments towards travel by Hanna Skandera.
