Is it a rooster or a hen? It had no comb and wattles but it had spurs and a tail. Their solution- a cockfight! Reflection The author didnt discriminate nor criticize any gender. But he still proved till the end that there are just two genders within the society, male and female and it would be up to the person himself if he would prefer the other gender. No matter how unlikely situations are, Filipinos could still find ways to incorporate humor in it. Arguments, philosophies, ugly truths these are instances wherein conflict and complications might arise. But within the Filipino context, those could be unexpected or unwanted events that could be or just simply be..laughed about. Conclusion Filipinos still have the stereotypical concepts about gender. We still set boundaries onto what males and females are to do and not to do. But when these concepts are somehow changed, not followed, or by-passed weve got no other choice but to accept. No matter how bad things go, in the end, we tend to just accept everything, forget about what happened and move on to the future.
