The biggest name in the 27th annual running of the Arlington Million Sunday turned out to be Gio Ponti, as the favorite recovered from an early stumble to take the lead at the final turn and win the legendary race. When the members of the Lightning were growing up, they didnt have the opportunity to play competitive sports in school, as that was a boys-only activity. This week though, the team, comprised of eight women, will be competing in the volleyball tournament at the 2009 Summer

National Senior Games, or the Senior Olympics, which takes place every two years. Were late bloomers, said team captain Blaze Carlsen, 65, of Des Plaines.
