Assignment 3
1. ‘Communication skills.Understanding, managing and creating effective oral, written
and multimedia communication in a variety of forms and contexts’
The mentioned skill is one of the ICT learning skills for the 21st century. Briefly
discuss this skill.
Communications skill is very important in ICT learning skills because it allows the
flow of information from the source to the end user. Learners in this 21st century must
be conversant with the use of various ICT learning skills such as e mailing, use of
internet, playing educative computer games etc.Learners that are using e mail to
submit their assignments will develop e-mailing skills and this will also help in
encouraging their writing skills and communication. Competency in word processing
and use of other resources on the computer can not be over emphasized, without
having basic understanding of this process it will be very difficult for learners to
function at optimum in the process of learning in this century.
Many of the learning resources and materials nowadays are electronically written on
CD or are posted on the websites to allow students to interact with those resources.
Access to these resources may be limited or not available at all if the learners do not
equip themselves with the necessary skills in order to be able to use those materials in
the process of learning.
