Manaus introduction : Manaus [manaws]) is a city in Brazil, the capital of the state of Amazonas.

It is the most populous city of Amazonas and is located in northern Brazil, The population is 1.71 million people; it is the eighth most populous city of Brazil. Manaus is known as the heart of Amazon and the city of the Forest. Amazon River The Amazon of South America is the second longest river in the world , the largest by waterflow. Its length is about 6,400 kilometres long. Climate : Manaus has a tropical monsoon climate. Though humid and wet, the Amazon as Brazil, in its whole - is not as hot as often imagined. Average annual temperature is 26.6C (80F), with more or less consistent temperatures all year round. Season : It is usual to consider two distinct periods in Manaus : the rainy season, and the dry season. The rainy season begins in December and lasts till mid-May. The dry season involves the other months: June-November. Soil : Manauss soil is rainforest soil , difficult to cultivate Most tropical rainforest soils usually poor in nutrients. Millions of years of weathering and torrential rains have washed most of the nutrients out of the soil. What kind of plants : Manaus located in the middle of the Amazon forest, there are many plants in Manaus : Bananas , Rubber Tree ,Orchids - lelia, coriates, camila, scuticaria, sofronite, oncidio, miltonia, cataseto, catleia, Jatob , Aa , Fava ,Carapanaba ,Sucupira ,Various timbers ,Angelim etc. What kind of animals : More than one-third of all species in the world live in the Amazon Rainforest. Mammals : boto, tucuxi , Amazonian Manatee (seacow) , Giant Otter

Reptiles. The anaconda. One of the world's largest species of snake, the anaconda spends most of its time in the wate. Fish. more than 5,600 species are currently known , like arapaima, arowana and piranha.
