COLOUR The dominating colours in this film poster are black, white and grey.

However there is an injection of red into the poster. The colour of the characters face appears to be a very colour, which could represent the stress and ordeal this character has had to go through due to the number 23. He also has the number 23 engraved into his face which is quite a disturbing image. Past the outline of his face, the remaining of the background is black, bringing the main focus onto this character.

The main focal point of this poster is the large image of the main character. However, the title of the film does standout. This is as it is printed in a white font against a black background. The style of the font is quite jagged, resembling handwriting. This ties in well with the engraved writing and numbers on the characters face. The number 23 is larger than the number. This raises awareness of the significance of the number 23. There are two pieces of text in red writing which makes it stand out. The red represents danger. One text being the main actor in this film; Jim Carrey, which is above the image of the character he plays. At the bottom right hand corner is another piece of text written in small red writing; The truth will find you. This statement alone is very chilling and sinister, but the fact it is in small writing means you have to look closely to see it, making it seem even more eerie.

On most film posters, the name of a few main actors in the film are included on the film poster. (usually around 3) However, on this film on the name of one actor is included; Jim Carrey. The actors included are usually the biggest selling point for the film, as are we are able to gather a preconceived idea of the style of the film and also the standard. Jim Carrey is a very well known actor, who does perform to a very high standard, however, he is a comedy actor. This could have an equal affect on the audience, in terms of intrigue, as he is rarely seen as a serious actor. The name of this is also printed in red writing, signifying that he is the character bringing danger into the equation.
