Lauren Paz McKool Lesson Reflection Onomatopoeia Lesson Reflection Overall I thought this lesson went extremely well.

I started the lesson with a fun activity that involved the students using their hands, arms, and feet to create sounds we hear in a rain storm. I then related this to onomatopoeia. Beginning with an activity that involved a hands on experience I feel that the students were able to comprehend the definition of onomatopoeia better because they were able to physically relate it to something. I was a nervous about doing the activity with the students because I didnt want things to get out hand but I warned them from the very beginning that if students refused to listen and follow directions that we would end the activity and instead return to their seats without completing the activity. I was pleased that the students chose to behave and we were able to complete the activity and have fun along the way. From there the lesson was smooth sailing. By the end of the lesson it was clear to me that the students understood what onomatopoeia was and how to look for it in a piece of writing.
