The Iollowing are the tips that I Iound very helpIul:
1. Pre-empting Iurther questions seems new to me but a very great tip. I would have never
thought about this great customer service. This would prevent a lot oI e-mails going to
and Iro. Pre-empting Iurther questions would please and impress the customers; they
would also stick around the company Ior a long time.
2. Make it personal, a very interesting tip. I never considered personalizing an e-mail would
make the receiver more likely to respond.
3. Use proper spelling, grammar & punctuation- something we must all be very careIul
about iI you want to impress your receiver. Poor grammar or spelling mistakes is a big
turn oII.
4. ProoI read your e-mail beIore sending out. Sometimes we are so busy completing our
work that we Iind it time consuming to read the e-mail beIore sending out, this might
send out wrong inIormation instead oI what we actually want to convey to our customers.
A very important tip to remember.
5. Using meaningIul subject line, this will make the receiver know what you want to talk
about in the e-mail. A meaningless subject won`t draw the receiver`s attention instead
he/she might tend to ignore the e-mail.

1. Smileys- should not be used in Iormal or business e-mails. They should be strictly used in
inIormal letters or text messages to Iriends and Iamily.
2. Formality- two things mentioned here: iI you want your customers to reply use inIormal
tone that encourages them to reply & iI don`t want them reply use a Iormal tone, they are
not likely to reply. I will deIinitely consider this tip.
3. Salutations- best to use 'Mr. or 'Sir Ior male and 'Ms. is saIe Ior women unless you
know iI the woman is married, then you can go ahead and use 'Mrs.
4. Large Attachments- ask the correspondent iI it`s ok to send large Iiles, they might be
running low on disk space. It might annoy them. Another tip to keep in mind.
5. Short Paragraphs- convey your message in Iew words, to the point and in short
paragraphs instead oI long e-mails where the reader is sure to get bored and miss the
important message.
