To balance prop, place balancer on a level surface and insert a piece of 1" tubing ilto prop center hole.

Place prop on balancer (see sketch). A heavy blade Iill go down. Spray some clear urethane varnish on the Iight blade. The side you just pairrted will act heavy until it dries. If a prop is close io balance, a little piint sprayed oT the tip may be enough. Irfergq fly with a damaged or cracked prop. Any questions on prop repair, contact CGS or the prop manufacturer.

A method for checking proper tensions on elevator and aileron

cables is as

control stick 2t' at a point 13" up from the pivot point. See sketch 2. A combination fish scale with tape measure works great for this. They cost about $6.00. Zebco makes them. They are called ilDe-Liarr', Modei 228. Measure tension by pulling back on the stick, check only one direction-up. To check aileron tension, lock the ailerons and measure 10 lbs. force at the top_of the stick for a I-" deflection measured 10" up from IfF-13, see sketch 3. If cable tension is less than specified on elevatbr or ailerons, adjust accordingly.
