ABSTRACT This Study is a classroom action research (PTK), entitled "Increasing students activities and achievement in learning the

Width of rectangle using comics as a medium to the fourth grade students of SDK ST. Arnold Kupang". The main problem in this research is how to increase the activity and achievement of students in learning the Width of rectangle using comics as a medium in fourth grade students of SDK ST. Arnoldus Kupang? While, the objective to be achieved in this research is to increase the activity and the achievement of fourth grade students learning in SDK ST. Arnoldus Kupang. This research was conducted in three cycles, in every cycle were encountered to be related with activities one to another, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The data obtained from teacher and students activity which is collected through the observation sheet of teacher and students activity and the data about the result of students learning which is collected through post test on each cycle. The results of this research showed that: Firstly. The use of comics as learning medium can improve the activities and the achievement of students learning in classroom of learning process. Secondly, the use of comics medium in width of strangle material can improve the students learning achievement. It can be seen from the differences of students achievement, since pre-test until the third cycle test, respectively: 0%, 56.76%, 72.97% and 81.08%. Finally, it concluded that mathematics comics can be used as a medium in increasing the students activity and achievement.
