RESOLUTION AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.

1, SECTION 8, SERIES OF 2000, OF BARANGAY SCHOLARSHIP FUND ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE DEVELOPMENTAL RIGHTS OF QUALIFIED INCOMING AND COLLEGE STUDENTS OF BARANGAY FATIMA. WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Kabataan stands by the principle to initiate and support programs that are to enhance intellectual development of the youth. (SK Constitution and By-Laws 2001) WHEREAS, City Resolution No.38, Series of 1999, Resolution authorizing the Barangay councils in the city of General Santos to establish a barangay scholarship fund/assistance in their respective barangays for the developmental right of the poor but deserving students , supports the assistance for the students who are underprivileged. WHEREAS, the provision on Ordinance No.1, Section 8, Series of 2000 has become inconsistent with the existing SK CBL 2001 and City Resolution, No. 38, Series of 1999 that the youth is not solely isolated within Elementary and Secondary schools. WHEREAS, instead of Assistance shall be in the form of stipend (payroll) in the amount of P1,200 for elementary level beneficiary and P2,000.00 for high school beneficiary with attached eligibility requirements; should be Assistance shall be in the form of stipend (payroll) in the amount of P1,200 for elementary level beneficiary, P2,000.00 in high school, and P5,000.00 for college students with attached eligibility requirements; WHEREAS, applicants of the college educational financial assistance will undergo the current screening procedure implemented in scholar selection of elementary and high school students. WHEREAS, only the incoming/current students of Mindanao State University-General Santos City (MSUGSC) are eligible to the avail the educational financial assistance since MSU-GSC is the only government tertiary school within the jurisdiction of the barangay with matriculation relative to the grant. RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, Amending Ordinance No.1, Section 8, Series of 2000, of Barangay Scholarship Fund Assistance Program for the developmental rights of qualified incoming and college students of the barangay.
