A Lost Land
by James Godwin There was a land of lost hopes It was torn apart by the trembling earth Buildings fell and slid between the slopes A woman cried and searched for her child But under the rubble he was piled There was a land of lost unity It was torn apart by the trembling earth People were broken, no longer a community A country looked for a helping hand But through the silence that country felt banned

There was a land of lost dreams It was torn apart by the trembling earth In the night you could hear the screams A man cried and searched for his wife Only to find the earth had taken her life

There was a land of lost love It was torn apart by the trembling earth All that was remaining looked above A child knelt down and prayed for a sign But was only told he was the last of the blood line

There was a land of lost trust It was torn apart by the trembling earth Refugees stole and looted though it wasnt just A family was torn apart by fear And in everyones eyes there was a tear
