Texas native Bonnie Sudderth serves as the State District Court Judge of the 352 nd District of Texas in Tarrant

County, a position to which she was first electe d in 1996. Educated at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Bonnie Sudderth also spent two semesters abroad, studying at the Universite de Dijon in France and the Universi ty of Exeter School of Law in England. Bonnie Sudderth received her Juris Doctor in 1985 and summarily passed the Texas Bar Examination and commenced practicing law. In 1990, Bonnie Sudderth earned appointment to the City of Fort Worth Muni cipal Court, rising to the rank of Chief Judge in only five months. Following si x years of service as the Chief Judge of the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court, Bonnie Sudderth won the Republican primary to fill the 352nd District Court s prema turely vacant seat, becoming the first Republican woman to preside over a Tarran t County civil district court. A talented writer, Bonnie Sudderth contributes to the publications of the Tarran t County Bar Bulletin and the Texas Wesleyan Law School Board of Trial Advocates . She won the State Bar of Texas Best Series of Articles Award in 2006 and 2008 and sat on the Editorial Board of Court Review magazine from 1992 to 1997. An accom plished and erudite judge, Bonnie Sudderth has delivered presentations at presti gious events such as the American Judges Association s Annual Educational Conference and the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting. Bonnie Sudderth also shares her experti se with law students as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Wesleyan School of Law and has received recognition for her mentoring efforts from the Texas Young Lawyers Association, the Texas Wesleyan University Law School Alumni Association, and t he Tarrant Country Young Lawyers Association. In her leisure time, Bonnie Sudderth enjoys reading the works of Mark Twain, Hen ry David Thoreau, Ayn Rand, and Jane Austen. Bonnie Sudderth annually donates 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love, the prominent nonprofit organization that provides disadvantaged children suffering from medical hair loss with high-quali ty wigs and hairpieces.
