An animatic is a visual storyboard with movement motion. With an animatic there is a combination of music and dialogue and the storyboard visuals to create a rough version of the final movie.

Animatic are known to have one major purpose; it meant to show the director/producer if the final movie will be successful or not. Which is why it is highly important to for an animatic to be made. Also it can be shown to the audience to gain their input about how they feel about your story.
