FOREWORD
1. PURPOSE
Fleet Marine Force ManualMCWP 3-11.2, Marine RiJe Squad, provides basic guid-
ance to enable the rifle platoon squad leader to. fight and lead his squad in combat.
2. SCOPE
This manual describes the organization, weapons, capabilities, and limitations of
the Marine rifle squad. It addresses the squad's role within the platoon and that
of the fire teams within the rifle squad. Emphasis is placed on offensive and
defensive tactics and techniques, as well as the different types of patrols the squad
will conduct.
3. SUPERSESSION
MCWP3-11.2, Marine RiJe Squad, dated 27 June 1988.
4. CHANGES
Recommendations for improvements to this publication are encouraged from
commands as well as from individuals. Forward suggestions using the User

1. MCWP 3-11.2, Marine Rifle Squad, requires immediate revision due to the
President's policy banning the use of non-self-destructingldeactivating antiper-
sonnei/antitank landmines. Insert the following attached pages:
a. Replace pages 9-27 through 9-30 with 9-27 through 9-30.
b. Replace pages 1-1 and 1-2 with pages 1-1 and 1-2.
2. Make the following pen changes:
a. Front cover, add "with Ch 1" under "MCWP 3-11.2".
b. Page Index- 10, change page numbers for the following entries:
"Minefield: Installation" from page "9-30" to "9-29".
"Mine warfare, Landmines" from pages "9-29-9-30" to "9-29".
"Mine warfare, Minefield installation" from page "9-30" to "9-29".
