Openings on Advisory Council on Aging

Annapolis, MD (March 1, 2012) The Anne Arundel County Advisory Council on Aging is seeking applicants, especially from the northern and western portions of Anne Arundel County, to fill openings on the advisory council. It currently has several members from the southern and central area of the county. The advisory council membership is composed of residents from each County Council District in the county who volunteer to serve in an advisory capacity to the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities (as established under the Older Americans Act), the County Executive, and other governmental bodies. Appointed by the County Executive, members attend monthly meetings, actively participate in advisory council deliberations, and take part in council activities in order to better assess the programs for and the needs of the older citizens in the county. Duties, requirements for appointment, and application procedures are available with the application on the county Department of Aging and Disabilities web site at www.aacounty.org/aging under Quick Links. The form also is available by calling 410-222-4464 and asking for the Advisory Council. It can be returned to the Advisory Council Membership Committee, Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities, 2666 Riva Road, Suite 400, Annapolis, MD 21401. - Making Life Better -
