Press Release PNP Commends Army Troops in Davao Oriental

MATI CITY, Davao Oriental Troops from 701st Infantry Brigade, led by its commander Col. Rey Leonardo Guerrero, were lauded after the successful uprootment of more or less 80 hills (fully grown) marijuana plants at Sitio Lumbong, Brgy. Tubaon, Tarragona, Davao Oriental. Fourteen (14) Army personnel, led by Cpt. Hector De Leon, were commended during the Closing Ceremony of CQB Training and Fun Shoot 2012 Awarding held last March 20, at Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office. During the awarding, Police Provincial Director P/SSupt. Perpetuo Macion commended the troops for their continuous support and cooperation with the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office in peacekeeping and in pursuing a province not only insurgency free, but also clear from illegal drugs. According to Col. Guerrero, on March 15, the combined efforts of Davao Oriental PPO, 67thInfantry Battalion and 28th Infantry Battalion, both under 701st IB, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) R-XI, initiated the operation to eradicate the said marijuana plantation. Seized marijuana plants were immediately burned in public, headed by Board Member Nio Sotero Uy. In accordance to our Peace and Development Outreach Program (PDOP), we make sure that, together with the PNP and other agencies, genuine peace and development will be delivered to the communities, Col.
