Free & Sliding Fee Scale Clinics

What?
There are numerous clinics throughout MN that offer free or sliding fee scale or reduced cost medical and dental care. Each county has a designated community health clinic which provides services on a sliding fee scale. Sliding fee scale clinics charge for services based on how much a family can afford after all other expenses are accounted for. For example, if a family has very little money for medical care, a sliding fee scale clinic would charge only a very small amount of money for services that would normally cost much more.

Who?
Requirements for eligibility are different for each clinic. Some clinics base eligibility on the county you live in or whether the patient is a child or adult, while others focus on families with no other insurance or individuals with specific disabilities.

Adults with FAS and ARND often don't have jobs with good benefits, like health insurance, so its good to know about the community health clinics. Sliding fees will help my daughter and her two kids make ends meet on her waitress income. -Marci, parent
