The manager of a factory would like to investigate the effect of music playing on the productivity of his workers. The following table shows the measure of productivity level of two groups of workers under two conditions: music turned on during working hours, and music turned off during working hours.

Assume that the productivity levels of the workers are normally distributed with equal variances. Test whether we can conclude that the workers performed better with music playing on during working hours at 5% significance level. (8 marks) 2. The developers of a training program designed to improve manual dexterity claim that people who complete the 6-week program will increase their manual dexterity. A random sample of 6 people enrolled in the training program gave the following results.

A car manufacturer wishes to investigate whether there is a relationship between gender and model of cars purchased by his customers. The table below shows the records of purchase of a random sample of 120 customers.
