Scrappy Thank You Cards

a Purple Cows how-to designed by: Jing-Jing Nickel http://thislittleartofmine.blogspot.com/ Tools and Supplies: Purple Cows 2 in 1 Combo Trimmer #1040 CraftGeek Pin It #7000 CraftGeek Pins Spring Butterflies #7005 CraftGeek Pins Winter Hearts #7002 Paper Scraps

As a paper crafter, I often generate a LOT of paper scraps when I scrap. I must confess that I hoard even the paper scraps because I know they will be extremely useful in making quick and simple cards. Here is a tip, make a card as soon as you are done with a bigger product, say a layout or a mini-album. All coordinating supplies are out already and it’s the easiest time to make a dent into the scraps.

My cards follow a very simple pattern of three rectangle cut out of patterned papers. As you can see, they can be either horizontally oriented or vertically oriented. I used the decorative pins two ways. In the vertical card, I created a pinned border using the silver butterfly pins. In the horizontal card, I simply added a red heart pin to accent the card. Either way, the pins serve to dress up the otherwise simple patterned paper usage. These two cards are really simple to make, I hope they give you an idea or two on how to effectively put a dent on your paper scraps and to jazz things up with the Pin-it tool and decorative Pins from CraftGeek by Purple Cows!
