Aseachdatapointindicatedanexactlatitudeandlongitudeitwaspossibletodevelopaheatmap showingthecumulativelocationsmostfrequentedbythefourGreatWhiteSharksoverthe30days(see Figure4).

Aninterestinganomalyinthedatacanbe spottedinthesouthwesternpartofFalseBay. Thesharksseemtolikespendingtimeinthesewatersand thereisevenaslightindicationthatanewepicenterisbeginningtoformapproximately20km northeastofCapePoint. Thesharkstendedtoavoidthenorthwesternandsoutheasternquadrantsof FalseBayasthereisnoindicationthatthesharksventuredintothesewaterswithinthis30dayperiod. QualitativeData JacquesKallisandLouiseFitzgeraldprovideduswithsomeexcellentinsightintothetourismindustryin CapeTown,broughtoutbytheiruniqueperspectivesontheissue(seeFigure5). Bytheiraccounts,and asevidencedbythegrowingnumberoftouristarrivalsrecordedatCapeTownInternationalAirport(IETA 2011),thetourismindustryinCapeTownisbooming. Jacquesinformedusthathehaswitnesseda doublingofthenumberofSharkDivingoperatorsinthelastfiveyearsandthepriceofadaytriphas risensignificantlyoverthissametimeperiod(SharkDivingWeekly31). sayingthatCapeTownhasneverbeenthispopular,andshereferencednotonlytherecentFootball WorldCupasaprimeattraction,butalsothenumberofecotourismactivitiesthatcanbefoundinand aroundCapeTown. Theychumthewaterswithdeadfishguts,luringourpreciousGreatWhiteSharks closertohumanactivity,andintheend,thesharksbegintoassociatehumanbeingswithfood. Thisisnot sustainableandnothealthyfortheecosystem(Fitzgerald2012). Kallis,whoworksintheindustry, believesthatSharkDivingdoeslittleharmandhasnthadanynegativeeffectonlocalsortouristsinCape Town.
