A second bank of solar panels was installed at the General Mills headquarters in Minneapolis. buildings opened a General Mills distribution facility in Georgia plus an existing office building in Minneapolis that was upgraded to meet LEED specifications. European locations are now ISO 14001 certified which is a globally recognized environmental management system.
This umbrella is very environmentally friendly. The base of the umbrella that you put in is interchangeable! You can put anything such as newspapers, plastic bags or whatever you want to serve as the protecting surface. So whatever newspapers, plastic bags, etc. that you use can be put into this umbrella!

In the arctic region, the ozone layer has thinned creating a hole. Scientists have been researching the ozone layer to see why the ozone disappeared and how it did. Then, scientists came up with a recipe of how it could of left: the mixture of sunlight, a long period of cold temperatures, swirling winds that surround a patch of the stratosphere and keep fresh ozone out. Then add special clouds that help other molecules gobble up ozone. Scientists are extremely concerned if this hole increases because it would let in harmful UV rays that would hurt animals and people.

Spring Cleaning On Mt. Everest

On Mt. Everest, climbers have been leaving their trash on the mountain as they are hiking. Hikers have left things such as; ropes, tents and oxygen tanks. A team of mountain climbers are now beginning an effort to clean up trash left behind on Everest left by other climbers. For every 2.2lbs of trash they collect on the mountain, they will receive $1.40 (If they collect 11,000 pieces of trash, the get $5,000!). One of these leaders is Apa, a veteran that has climbed Mt. Everest 20 times since 1989. Apa says, I want to do this for my country, my people and for Everest. This trash has a terrible impact on the environment.

This website has a lot of color and fun pictures that would make the website appeal to younger kids. While teaching kids how to recycle, kids get to play wonderful games to get to learn all about recycling. By having an interactive learning environment, kids will be able to learn more and more through the pictures shown on how to go green.

This website appeals to kids by having characters they love on the website (tinkerbell) tell them how to save energy. The bright colors would also draw kids attention and have them click on the category and learn. The neatly organized categories that you can click on to learn will make it easy for kids to get to a place where they can learn about saving energy.
