GTI Nes \V CITROEN SERVICE ~ IN safety recommendations General * In wet or foggy weather, keep your distance, slow down, braking distances are increased, switch on the dipped headlamp beam. © Visibility and emergency, always carry a set of spare bulbs, a tyre inflation aerosol can, an emergency battery lamp, sun glasses. © Change screen wiper blades when they start to leave streaks on the glass. © The road lighting equioment is designed specially for your safety and that of others. It must be in gaod order, well adjusted and clean. When children are in the car © The rear doors are fitted with a child proof locking system. When in use the doors can only be opened from the outside. * Never leave a young child (or animal) in a car in the sun with all the windows shut. © Children must not be allowed to stand between the backrests of the two front seats. '* Before opening a door make certain that this can be done without causing a danger. * Under no condition can children travel on the lap of a front seat passenger (danger of impact with the dashboard or windscreen in case of a collision). Caravaning © Spread the load inside the caravan, keep heavy loads on or near the floor, respect the towing weight limits. Make sure the caravan is heavier at the front but keep within the nose weight limit. * Drive at moderate speed (within the speed limit). Change down before hills both going up and coming down. © When towing the fuel consumption will increase. A roof spoiler may help. * Braking distances are increased. Use the brakes gently and progressively. Avoid harsh braking. * Before leaving: - check the tyre pressures of both car and caravan, - check all the exterior and signalling lamps of the car and caravan, - practice manoeuvring, especially reversing, ~ grease regularly the towing ball hitch, remove it when not towing for a long period. Always keep within the towing weight limits. Roof rack '* Use an approved roof rack or roof bars. © Spread the load evenly, avoid overloading one side. * Keep heavy objects at the bottom of the load. * Strap the load securely, and signal any overhanging load. © Drive gently, side wind effects will be increased. '* Remove the roof rack or roof bars when not in use. ‘Always keep within the load capacity. This brochure will allow you to make better use of the technical features evolved by Citroén.
