Aashaam Vihaaya Parihrutya Parasya Nindaam Paaperatim Cha Sunivaarya Manah Samaadhau Aadaaya Hrudkamala Madhyagatam Paresham Vaaraanasee Purapatim Bhaja Vishvanaatham.

Raagaadi Dosha Rahitam Svajanaanu Raagam Vairaagya Shaanti Nilayam Girijaa Sahaayam Maadhurya Dhairya Subhagam Garalaa Bhiraamam Vaaraanasee Purapatim Bhaja Vishvanaatham. Vaaraanasee Purapateh Stavanam Shivasya Vyaakhyaatam Ashtakamidam Pathate Manushya Vidyaam Shriyam Vipula Soukhyam-ananta Keertim Sampraapya Dehavilaye Labhate Cha Moksham. There is one more prayer written by Adi Shankara Bhagawat pada with five verses called Guru Paduka Panchakam.

Anantha samsara samudhra thara naukayithabhyam guru bhakthithabhyam, Vairagya samrajyadha poojanabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 1

Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru, Which is the ocean of knowledge, resembling the full moon, Which is the water, which puts out the fire of misfortunes, And which removes distresses of those who prostrate before it. Natha yayo sripatitam samiyu kadachidapyasu daridra varya, Mookascha vachaspathitham hi thabhyam,namo nama sri guru padukhabyam.3

Naleeka neekasa pada hrithabhyam, nana vimohadhi nivarikabyam, Nama janabheeshtathathi pradhabhyam namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 4 Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru, Which attracts us, to lotus like feet of our Guru, Which cures us, of the unwanted desires, And which helps fulfill the desires of those who salute. Nrupadvadhabhyam nathaloka pankhthe, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 5

Papandhakara arka paramparabhyam, thapathryaheendra khageswarabhyam, Jadyadhi samsoshana vadaveebhyam namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 6

Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru, Which is like a series of Suns, driving away the dark sins, Which is like the king of eagles, driving away the cobra of miseries, And which is like a terrific fire drying away the ocean of ignorance. Shamadhi shatka pradha vaibhavabhyam,Samadhi dhana vratha deeksithabhyam, Ramadhavadeegra sthirha bhakthidabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam.7

Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru, Which endows us, with the glorious six qualities like sham, Which gives the students ,the ability to go in to eternal trance, And which helps to get perennial devotion to the feet of Vishnu. Swarchaparana makhileshtathabhyam, swaha sahayaksha durndarabhyam, Swanthachad bhava pradha poojanabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 8

Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru Which bestows all desires of the serving disciples, Who are ever involved in carrying the burden of service And which helps the aspirants to the state of realization. Kaamadhi sarpa vraja garudabhyam, viveka vairagya nidhi pradhabhyam,

Bhodha pradhabhyam drutha mokshathabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam., 9

Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru Which is the Garuda,which drives away the serpent of passion, Which provides one, with the treasure of wisdom and renunciation, Which blesses one,with enlightened knowledge, And blesses the aspirant with speedy salvation.

Lord of life, the all-pervasive One, the Lord of the universe, O Lord of the Lord of the world, the Possessor of eternal bliss, O Lord of all entities past and future, Lord of all beings, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. gale ruamla tanau sarpajla mahklakla gaedhiplam | jajabhagottaragairvila iva akara ambhumname ||2|| O He, whose neck is adorned with a skull-garland and body with serpents, O Ender of great time itself, who rules over Ganesha and others, From whose matted locks issues forth the large billows of the Ganga, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. mudmkara maana maayanta mahmaala bhasmabhdharatam | andihyapra mahmohahra iva akara ambhumname ||3|| O He, who is ornamented with the very form of happiness, O He, who is adorned with the ashes of the ornate universe itself, O beginningless, boundless One, the Remover of the greatest of delusions, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. vadho nivsa mahahsa mahppana sadsuprakam | gira gaea mahea surea iva akara ambhumname ||4||

The One who dwells under a banyan tree, He of immense laughter, O Dissolver of the greatest of sins, the eternally effulgent One, O Lord of the mountain, Lord of hosts, O great Lord, Lord of all Devas, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. girindrtmajsagrahtrdhadeha girau sasthita sarvad sannigeham | parabrahmabrahmdibhirvandhyamna iva akara ambhumname ||5|| O He, who shares half His body with She who is born of the mountain (Shakti), O He, who is situated in the mountains, the eternal Refuge (for those who seek Him), O Supreme Brahman, worshiped with honor by Brahm and others, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. kapla trila karbhy dadhna padmbhojanamrya kma dadnam | balvardayna sur pradhna iva akara ambhumname ||6|| O He, who holds the skull-bowl and trident in His hands, O He, who fulfills the desires of those who take to His lotus feet, O Rider of the Bull, the Supreme One amongst the Devas, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. araccandragtra gunanda ptra trinetra pavitra dhaneasya mitram | aparkalatra sad caritra iva akara ambhumname ||7|| O He, whose body resembles the autumnal moon, the Vessel of blissful qualities, O three-eyed One, the pure One, Friend of the Lord of wealth, O Consort of Aparna (Shakti), the eternally wonderful One, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. hara sarpahra cit bhvihra bhava vedasra sad nirvikram | mane vasanta manoja dahanta iva akara ambhumname ||8|| O Hara, garlanded in serpents, who roams the cremation ground*, O Bhava, the very essence of the Veda, who is forever free from change, O Resident of the cremation ground*, who burns all mind-born desires, O Shiva-Shankara-Shambhu, O Ishana, praises be unto Thee. stava ya prabhte nara lape pahet sarvad bhargabhvnurakta | sa putra dhana dhnyamitra kalatra vicitra samsdya moka prayti ||9|| Whosoever reads this hymn every morning with devotion Pleases the effulgent trident-bearing Lord. He shall be blessed with children, wealth, friends, grains, spouse, And after leading a wonderful life, he shall attain moksha. || iti ivakam ||

Text6 gunja madhura mala madhura yamuna madhura vici madhura salilam madhuram kamalam madhuram madhur-adipater akhilam madhuram His gunja-berry necklace is sweet, His flower garland is sweet, sweet is the Yamuna river, and sweet are her rippling waves, her water is sweet, and sweet are the lotus flowers also, Everything is completely sweet about the Lord of Sweetness. His gopis (cowherd girlfriends) are sweet, His pastimes (plays) are sweet, His union (meeting him) is sweet, His deliverance (rescue) is sweet, His sidelong glances are sweet, His courtesy (etiquette) is sweet, Everything is completely sweet about the Lord of Sweetness. Text8 gopa madhura gavo madhura yastir madhura shristhir madhura dalitam madhuram phalitam madhuram madhur-adipater akhilam madhuram His gopas (cowherd boyfriends) are sweet, His cows are sweet, His cane (herding-stick) is sweet, His creation is sweet, His victory (trampling) is sweet, His accomplishment (fruition) is sweet, Everything is completely sweet about the Lord of Sweetness.

Oh! Surya Narayana YOU are the crown glory, carrying shankha chakra in your hands. YOU are the creator of joy and destroyer of sorrows. YOU cover the entire universe with the golden twilight. YOU are the Master, the Provider of the entire universe. Oh! Sun God make all my efforts as bright and brilliant as the sun in the solar system.
