Time for Pakistan to rectify its mistake

Since beginning, China remained all-weather friend of Pakistan , extending every possible help in hardships, and has never shrunk. On the other hand, U.S.A which is fair weather friend of Pakistan, which only forges better relationship with Pakistan whenever it sees any core interest in the region. In order to contain spread of Communism, Pakistan was used a tool by USA. SEATO and CENTO were, no doubt, military defence pacts, they were expected to help Pakistan in tough times. When Pakistan went into war against another super power, Russia, and joined Western Block, it was sole responsibility of USA to extend military assistance when Pakistan needed it badly. On the contrary, After disintegration of Soviet Union, Pakistan was left to face the consequences of War alone- a fact later admitted by Hilary Clinton. Moreover, no assistance was extended by SEATO and CENTO on the lame excuse that these were for containment of communism but not for any other purpose. If so, why NATO has not been dismantled after the dissolution of Soviet Union. At this critical juncture, it is in the best interest of Pakistan to rectify its mistake and seek the help of China and strengthens ties with it. No doubt, China is prospective Super Power. Stronger ties with China will certainly increase influence of Pakistan in the region.
