The Dog and Cat Shelter, Inc. -- Sheridan, WY Contact: 307-674-7694 or Cel at dogncat@fiberpipe.net PETIE is a handsome five-year-old smooth-haired
Jack Russell terrier. He is very friendly and gets along well with most other dogs, but not sure about cats. He likes going for walks and exploring everything and really enjoys playing. Like most JRTs, hes very active and will need an active family. He also needs a secure yard because he kept escaping from his previous home. He has been neutered, is vaccinated, and will be microchipped before adoption.

Time is of the essence for helping the dogs featured in the e-WOOF newsletters. Please contact the name/numbers for each dog before contacting eWOOF. In most cases, time is limited for the dogs featured in our newsletters--with that in mind, we try to get the word out to as many contacts as we can using this publication. Work on behalf of the animals for finding them homes and/ or rescues comes from many, many sources and is an ONGOING effort dealt with a sense of urgency. In some cases there may be times when a sudden adoption and/or rescue comes through at the exact time our newsletter is issued. This is an unforeseen circumstance on our part--while we certainly understand the crossover may cause frustrations for you as the prospective adopter of an animal we hope you join us in rejoicing for an animal being saved. We appreciate and thank you for your continued support FOR THE

PLEASE NOTE:

RENO is a three-year-old medium-sized Pointer/ hound mix who is really looking for a good home. He is a very nice, friendly dog who loves all ages of people and just seems to be asking for some special person to please take him home with them and love him! Reno is an affectionate dog who loves attention and is quite the gentleman. He is totally housetrained. He really enjoys playing with toys. Reno is fine with other dogs but is more interested in the company of people. He is neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped before adoption. ____________ Black Dog Animal Rescue -- Cheyenne, WY Contact: 307-214-6600 or bdar@bdar.org JAVA. Im a 7 year old lab mix, homeless now for
nearly a year since my previous family divorced and no one wanted me after that. I like to fetch, swim, cuddle, and otherwise be near my person. Dont let my middle age fool you, I still have a lot of energy and enthusiasm! I might be too excited for a home with very small kids, but I like kids so older ones would be great! Take me home and I might decide someday to share my secret to eternal youth with you!

LUNA. I was saved from a shelter the day after I gave birth there to 8 beautiful puppies. My babies are all weaned now and they will all be going home very soon. But even though lots of people came to see them, no one has picked me yet. I am super sweet and snuggly and I like to be touching you as much as I can. Im still a baby myself, less than 2 years old! I have the most soulful brown eyes and all I want in this world is a loving human family to call my own!
small you can pick me up or let me sneak into your lap. It takes me a bit to warm up to a new situation, but once Im comfortable I become a wiggily, silly, and happy girl! I love to play and wrestle with other dogs but Im noisy when I do it (I cant help it, its just my style), and that sometimes makes people nervous. But I promise, when it comes to me theres nothing to be nervous about, except for maybe falling head over heels in love, I cant do anything about that! ____________ ADELE

HERD of Wyoming Rescue -- Sheridan, WY Contact: Joan Adsit at 307-752-0812 or wyoasr@gmail.com http://www.herdofwy.com BANDIT is a senior Border Collie, 12 or more years old.
Imagine being a senior like that and then suddenly finding yourself lost and in a shelter. She is a gentle old sweetie. She gets around pretty well, but is a bit deaf so certainly needs a fenced yard. She does have a few health issues, but nothing serious or imminently threatening, just the kind of things that come with age: a few benign lumps, a heart murmur, and being a bit hard of hearing. Bandit would really like to have a home of her own to retire to and will reward you with love and companionship. ____________

I get along with other dogs and am very friendly and loving. I am a playful pup who is ready to learn whatever you want to teach me! You should come visit me at the shelter sometime, I would love to spend time with you! ROSCOE The names Roscoe. I am a male Schnauzer mix. I am about 2 years old. I am quite shy and I get anxious if I am left alone too long. I am friendly with some other dogs, depends on whether our personalities mesh. I am also not a fan of cats. If you find the time, you should come see if I am the one for you! RUFUS. I am Rufus, a male Heeler mix who is about 2 years
old. I love playing with toys and am a great indoor and outdoor dog. I have just one flaw; occasionally, when I get really excited, the Heeler in me takes over and I start nipping your arms in order to play with you. I am in need of someone who is willing to work with me, to take the time and steps needed to fix my curable behavior. I am a great dog the rest of the time, and hopefully someone will see this and give me the chance that I need to fix my recent bad habit, as I have been stressed being at the shelter for 6 months now. Are you willing to help me? ____________

Once I was a lonely dog, Just looking for a home. I had no place to go, No one to call my own. I wandered up and down the streets, in rain in heat and snow. I ate whatever I could find, I was always on the go. My skin would itch, my feet were sore, My body ached with pain. And no one stopped to give a pat Or to gently say my name. I never saw a loving glance, I was always on the run. For people thought that hurting me was really lots of fun. And then one day I heard a voice So gentle, kind and sweet, And arms so soft reached down to me And took me off my feet. No one again will hurt you Was whispered in my ear. Youll have a home to call your own where you will know no fear. You will be dry, you will be warm, youll have enough to eat. And rest assured that when you sleep, your dreams will all be sweet. I was afraid I must admit, Ive lived so long in fear. I cant remember when I let A human come so near. And as she tended to my wounds And bathed and brushed my fur She told me about the rescue group And what it meant to her. She said, We are a circle, A line that never ends. And in the center there is you protected by new friends. And all around you are the ones that check the pounds, And those that share their home after youve been found. And all the other folk are searching near and far. To find the perfect home for you, where you can be a star. She said, There is a family, thats waiting patiently, and pretty soon well find them, just you wait and see. And then theyll join our circle theyll help to make it grow, so therell be room for more like you, who have no place to go. I waited very patiently, The days they came and went. Todays the day I thought, my family will be sent. Then just when I began to think It wasnt meant to be, there were people standing there just gazing down at me. I knew them in a heartbeat, I could tell they felt it too. They said, We have been waiting for a special dog like you. Now every night I say a prayer to all the gods that be. Thank you for the life I live and all youve given me. But most of all protect the dogs in the pound and on the street. And send a Rescue Person to lift them off their feet. by Arlene Pace
