Thank you for investing in Content Composer! You may not be aware of it, but youre about to take content generation to an entirely new level. Installing Content Composer


Welcome to the first step of using Content Composer. Youll see soon enough that your use of Content Composer is as easy as installing it: 1. Locate the Content Composer installation file that you downloaded 2. Content Composer is a powerful, SEO content editor and publishing system, designed to meet the demanding needs of both beginners and experts alike. The software includes robust features that help you write better content, that is perfectly optimized for maximum results in the search engines. Analyze Material for Keyword Density


In order to effectively succeed with an article marketing program, its essential that your articles not only contain the correct number of keywords its also important that those keywords appear throughout the article in a strategic manner. Content Composer accomplishes this with three separate groups of keywords (Primary Keywords, Theme Keywords, and Synonyms). The first group is the Primary Keyword group, which appears as the most important keyword within the articles that you write. The keyword or keyword phrases that you assign to this group will appear throughout your article(s) in places specifically designed to grab the attention of the search engines. The second group is the Theme Keyword group, which contains the keywords or keyword phrases that are related to your Primary Keyword(s). Its important to include Theme Keywords within the online content that you create since the search engines are incorporating theme relevancy into the way they anaylze your content. The key is to use a careful blend of the right words without excessively repeating your Primary Keyword that inadvertently creates an article that looks it was designed purely as search engine food. Remember, the key to your success with web content is providing real, informative content. By using different concepts (like Theme Keywords) to explain your topic, you can continue to talk about one subject in a way thats varied and interesting to your readers. The more interesting your content is, the longer readers will stay on your website. To help you achieve a respectable keyword density that is, a density that wont spam search engines or turn away readers, Content Composer will analyze the number of times that your Primary Keyword, Theme Keywords, and all keywords in general appear in the articles that you write. This way you can monitor how well youre integrating important concepts into your information.

Create New Content from Templates


If youve ever written a series of articles from scratch, you know how difficult it can be to write a collection of 10-12 articles and keep up with keyword density (not to mention appropriate placement of those keywords) at the same time! Its just not efficient to juggle this many text files on a single desktop screen nor is it efficient to hand count a large amount of keywords.

Save Articles in Ready-To-Publish Formats


As a writer or webmaster, youll undoubtedly want to export your articles in different formats depending upon how you intend to use them. For example, if youre a ghostwriter, youll more than likely be asked to submit your content as plain text files. Content Composer will allow you to export your work as plain text, but if youre going to publish your work yourself, Content Composer will allow you to preview and save your work as an HTML file.

Using Content Composer An Overview


What youve read so far doesnt even begin to describe the power of Content Composer. Fortunately, its as easy to use as it is powerful. In fact, its so easy that you can probably start using Content Composer within 30 minutes of opening it for the first time. This section will describe everything you need to not only discover some of its hidden treasures, but also to quickly get started. 1. The Opening Screen There are just three main components of Content Composer that you should familiarize yourself with first so that you can quickly access its functions. This section of the user manual will briefly introduce them to you. 2. The Menubar and Toolbar Component Common in almost every single Windows program, this area of Content Composer gives you quick access to some of the most widely used functions of the program. Although some of the items here are explained in further detail later on in this guide, well briefly introduce them to you here. 3. The File and Keyword Component This section of Content Composer is your virtual dashboard, which enables you to navigate to your articles and monitor your keyword types, usage, and density. There are three sections in this component and each is designed to make sure your articles perform the way that you want them to. 4. The Content Composer Component This part of Content Composer is where youll create the content of your articles. Here, you can develop each article independently, or you can develop your articles from a template, which consequently, can also be tailored to provide specific results.

The Opening Screen


Content Composer has such a user-friendly interface, its tempting to just jump in there and start clicking around to see what happens. While thats certainly one way to approach the program, it isnt really efficient. Lets take a just few seconds to identify the three main components that youll use on a regular basis so that you can understand how Content Composer organizes your tasks. Basically, you have a (1) toolbar and a menu bar component, (2) a file and keyword component, and (3) a content composer editor component.

The File and Keyword Component


Now that youve familiarized yourself with Content Composers menu bar and toolbar, its time to learn how to manipulate the File and Keyword Component. This section of the program is divided into three important sections: File Explorer. This is where you can browse to and open the article files that youve previously saved. Folders are displayed on top...

... and the files inside those folders are displayed underneath. It works almost exactly like Windows Explorer. To open a file, double click it and it will display itself in the Content Composer Component to the right. Once the file is open, the next section of this component (Content Statistics) will display itself.

You can see which files are inside each folder by clicking the name of a folder up top. By default, the type of files that will be displayed are Content Composer files (files ending with a .ccf extension) but you can view other files inside of a folder by changing the filter option at the very bottom of this section.

Content Statistics. This section describes important information regarding the article that youve opened. Of course, if youre starting a new file, the text boxes will be blank and youll have an opportunity to fill them in with the information that you want to monitor.

For example, you will need to supply things like your name, the title of your article, its meta description and keywords (for your website content), your Primary Keyword, and your Theme Keywords.

Click a blue page icon to enter each of your keywords or keyword phrases in a separate window, as in the example below. This makes it easier to enter in data in the event that you have a long list of keywords or keyword phrases.

As you can see, these windows present their own toolbars for you to easily open a keyword list that you already have, make adjustments, and even save! Of course, you can also use your basic editing cut, copy, and paste functions from the toolbar as well. The Keyword Synonyms area (not shown above) provides an easy way for you to add expert verbiage, search engine synonyms and alternate phrases right into your content with the click on a mouse. This gives you the flexibility to use a variety of targeted keywords and phrases to sprinkle within your article. The last thing you want to do is over use your primary keyword phrase within an article (known as keyword stuffing). Synoymns are a great way to stay on theme and on topic without excessive use of your primary keyword.

Once youve filled in this information, click the green check icon so that Content Composer can begin to monitor the article that you develop and simultaneously count and/or adjust existing percentages of the keywords that you type. NOTE: Its extremely important that you save the information youve entered thus far especially if you need to forward your Primary and Theme Keywords to your ghostwriter. Content Composer is available in two versions: A limited-function Lite version, and the fully functional version that youre using now. By saving your keyword data, you can easily forward your keyword file(s) to a ghostwriter who uses the lite version of Content Composer. Ghostwriters who use the lite version of Content Composer can write your articles that include your preferred keywords, density, and word count in a file format (CCF) that you can effortlessly import into your fully functional version for advanced editing, comparisons, analyzations, transformations, exporting and reporting.

The Density figure that you see (in red) is based upon the number of times that your Primary Keyword is found in your article. In the example below, the density shows as 0% because we havent written an article yet. But this figure changes as you begin to type and include your Primary Keyword in your writing.

To monitor a specific keyword or keyword phrase, you can select one from the Primary Keywords drop-down box, or you can check a few Theme Keywords from the Theme Keywords box.

In this section of the Content Statistics, you can easily monitor the amount of times that your Primary Keyword (always displayed with blue type) appears within your article. Theme Keyword Density is also shown which is an important factor when producing web content today. You can also monitor other pertinent information such as how many words exist in your article, how many paragraphs youve written, and the number of Theme Keywords that youve

written along with their individual densities. Content Composer also tracks and displays your Keyword Prominence (which is important when optimizing your content for the search engines) and provides suggestions if your Prominence is outside of the recommended range.

Advanced Analyzation. For more data, you can view the Advanced Analyzation section of the component to count every usage of your keywords and calculate their individual densities. In the example below, you can see the Primary Keyword (always displayed with red type) and the Theme Keyword (always displayed with green type).

You can adjust what to count, by selecting or de-selecting the kinds of keyword patterns that youd like to monitor underneath. Clicking the Refresh button will adjust the count number and percentages that are displayed up top.

Now of course, you certainly dont want Content Composer to count every single word that appears in your article. These might be words that are commonly used like, a, the, or we, and so on and so forth. So to prevent Content Composer from counting common words, you can edit its SkipWords.Ini file (located in the directory that you installed Content Composer) and add words that you want Content Composer to ignore.

The Content Composer Editor Component


Here is where your search engine optimization efforts really come alive. To illustrate its power, well use the Sample.CCF file that comes with Content Composer. First things first, youll notice two simple tabs above the content area: The Content Editor tab and the Content Transformer Template tab.

The area accessible under the Content Editor tab displays the actual article that youre working on. But the area accessible under the Content Transformer Template tab displays four vital functions to facilitate your usage of the Content Composer templates. 1. Copy Content To Template. This section will take the information (article) displayed under the Content Editor tab and copy it to the Content Transformer Template window. This is a quick and easy way to create a new template based on content that you already have or that youve been working on in the Content Editor. Transformer Setup. This section of the Content Transformer Template allows you to create multiple variations of the same content so that Content Composer can randomly select one of those variations, and insert it where your fields are (that is, when youre ready to export your content). Using fields (letters between two percent signs, like %HEADER%, %BODY%, and %FOOTER% for example), Content Composer will insert information that you provide in the Content Transformer Setup to write new content for you. There's also a Content Title Template field, which will insert a new title for you when you export your documents. This feature gives your documents an additional fresh appeal. In fact, when you use the Batch Export feature, Content Composer will pull a title and use it in the articles themselves. Using %Up_% at the beginning on your Content Title Template field capitalize the first letter of each word in the title. For example: using %Up_%THEMEKWDS%% = Forest using %THEMEKWDS% = forest You can enter in as many variations of your content as you wish, however in order for Content Composer to randomly select just one, each entry must be on its own line and separated by two pound signs: ## Use the "##%NOTHING%##" field within the paragraph variations (left side) to tell Content Composer to NOT include a paragraph during the transformation (often referred to as article spining) process or to ignore adding a paragraph. This will help make your content variations more unique and vary the word and paragraph length of your content. While you're inside the Content Transformer Template window, you can easily create a custom field by simply highlighting a word, right-clicking that word, and then selecting "Create Custom Field and Variations" from the pop-up window. (Click the Auto Create Custom Field and Variations button for easier access to this function). This operation will automatically create a merge field for you - a field that you can freely modify.

Or if you like, you can create your own custom fields by hand. In this case, you'll simply add a "[/V]" before each synonym (variation) of the words you want Content Composer to randomly select from. You can also insert the [/V] symbol from the "Merge Fields List." When you highlight a collection of word variations and click the Auto Create Custom Field and Variations button, Content Composer will prompt you for a name so that you can easily recognize and recall the set of variations you just created. Where will you find this reference? Well right next to the Content Transformer Template window is a convenient list of all the fields available for the template you're working on. To use a field in this Merge Fields List, simple place your cursor at the place where the field should appear, and then double-click the field name from inside the list. Content Composer will insert the field right where you want it within your template. Easy! Remember that each field is case sensitive and it must be encased by two percent signs. If you want to get a little fancy with your content, you can add a [/hb] symbol in your text to indicate a hard break, or a [/c] symbol to insert a comma. These symbols arent necessary when youre editing your text in the Content Editor window. But they are required when youre editing text that will serve as field values. Content Composer will automatically convert commas and hard breaks in a block of text should they appear in a selection that will use the Create Custom Field and Variations function. The only time that commas are appropriate in field values is when theyre used to separate the items that you want Content Composer to randomly select!

You should also note the handy functions at the bottom of the Content Transformer Template window itself. These functions make editing your template even easier. You can cut, copy, paste, spell check and use the thesaurus right from the template window. And if the text within the window begins to look a little convoluted, you can check the Auto Line Wrap function to see all the text within the borders of the window. 3. Transform (Single). This function will generate a new article based on the data that you supplied earlier as field values, and then present the new article in the Content Editor Window. 4. Transform (Batch). This time saver allows you to export multiple variations of your article. You simply need to: a. select a folder to store your batch of articles b. give these articles a prefix name (a name that will begin each file) c. tell Content Composer how many articles that you want to generate d. select the format in which you want these articles to appear (as a CCF file, TXT file, or HTM/HTML file), and then e. hit Transform! Be sure to tell Content Composer to Include the Title as the first line within each file by selecting its check box (if you want).

The end result will be any number of articles that you specified. When you open each one of these files, what youll see is your original content. However each of the files will display different information based on the data that you supplied earlier as field values. Content Composer uses a random "engine" to generate article variations within the transformer, therefore, sometimes it will generate identical articles. Click the Red "X" to remove any identical articles that are produced by the batch transformer.

Remember, you can safely experiment with the procedures in this chapter by making a copy of the sample.ccf file and then trying the suggestions with your copied file. Please make sure that youve mastered the instructions thus far before attempting the skills below!

Cool Tools
Earlier, you were introduced to some of the functions available from Content Composers tool bar and menu bar. This section will expand on a few of them so that you can start to understand why there just isnt anything else that compares to Content Composer, and how they make your content creation ridiculously easy.

The Automatic Keywords Replacement


This feature of Content Composer basically works like a typical Find & Replace function in most word processors. However in this program, you can replace a keyword in your article and monitor the count and density of the replaced keyword at the same time! To replace a keyword, click the Automatic Keywords Replacement button on the tool bar, or select it from the Tools menu. Type the keyword that you want to replace and then type the word that you want replace it with. Between those two words, insert the following characters (without the quotes): <<-->> Click the check mark button and Content Composer will change every instance of your original keyword with its new replacement.

Insert Hard Break After Each Line


This tool will format your content to match that which you see on your screen. Oftentimes, newsletters or e-zines owners require that article submissions follow a specific format (such as X many words per line, for example). Content Composer makes it easy for you to adjust the number of words that appear on each line of your article. When you click this button (or select Insert Hard Break After Each Line from the Tools menu) Content Composer will insert a hard break (carriage return) after each line of text. It cannot be un-done, so make sure that this is something you really want to do before you enable it. Fortunately, you dont need a ruler or calculator to do this! Instead, you can simply drag the righthand border of the Content Editor window and drag it to the left towards a position that you like:

When youve finished dragging, press the Insert Hard Break After Each Line icon and Content Composer will insert a hard break (carriage return) after each line of text as if you have pressed the [Enter] key while typing. At the bottom of the screen, youll see the exact number of characters per line thats created as you drag the windows border. This number will change as you move the border to a position or character size that you like.

HTML Preview
By clicking this button, or selecting it from the Tools menu, you can see what your article in the Content Editor window would look like as an HTML page. You may use HTML tags within the text of your article to design your web page and preview it through the use of your own default webbrowsing program. Tip: You can even use your HTML formatted pages within the Content Transformer to create dozens of unique, content-rich webpages in no time!

Spell Check
The spell check function that comes with Content Composer works just like any other powerful spell checking program found in your favorite word processor. Just like in Microsoft Word (and some other word processing software), Content Composer will underlined incorrectly spelled works in red so that you can quickly find them and correct them!

Thesaurus
Content Composers thesaurus is really handy because not only does it function like most others, it goes one step further and allows you to either randomly or sequentially replace words that are already in your article! To do this, right click a word that you would like to replace with another, select the Thesaurus option, pick a replacement, and then click the Replace button. Next, select Content Composers other tool bar button...

Repeat Last Replacement In Thesaurus


Clicking this button, or selecting it from the Tool menu, will replace every instance of a word in your article with your new selection.

Auto-Thesaurus Scanner
Talk about a time saver! Using the Auto-Thesaurus Scanner from either the Toolbar or the Tool menu, you can quickly locate replaceable words within a displayed article. This eliminates the need to scour through your documents and find these words by hand. Content Composer will do this for you by scanning your writing, and then highlighting each and every replaceable word in green. To replace a highlighted word with its synonym, simply click the word once and then make a selection from Content Composer's internal thesaurus. When finished using this feature, click the Auto-Thesaurus Scanner icon on the toolbar to remove the green color.

Compare Content
This button is another content analysis tool that allows you to load two separate articles/content into one window and view how different or similar they are. This is really important to avoid two articles being too similar (which might cause a duplicate content problem for you in the search

engines). We recommend that your content be at least 30% different (if not more) before uploading or submitting variations of the same article online. From this screen, you can find out how similar or different your articles are in reference to: Text Length Word Count Keyword Count Unique Keywords The Same Keywords This information is particularly helpful to know when youre trying to create unique content.

In addition to comparing articles by keyword, you can also compare articles by phrases. Words in red indicate content that is the same. Phrase comparison is the preferred option of comparison, since its a known fact that this is the same way the search engines analyze web pages.

This button will allow you to open more than one file at a time.

When you open many files with the Multiple Files Analyzer, Content Composer will open them in a spreadsheet so that you can quickly view the basic differences among the files that you selected. To change the order in which files are displayed, click on a column header to sort them. Files in the Multiple Files Analyzer are sorted ascending or descending by the criteria determined in the column header's name.

Article Usage Report


This handy tool (also accessible from the Tools menu) is similar to the Multiple Files Analyzer. When you select it, youre prompted to select multiple files to analyze. However this time, the files that you select must share the same Primary Keyword List that you created when you built your Primary Keywords. To change the order in which the files are displayed, click on a column header to sort them. Files in the Article Usage Report are sorted ascending or descending by the criteria determined in the column header's name.

Content Composer will check an article against Google, Yahoo and MSN for similar content (plagiarism). You must be connected to the Internet to use this function. This function utilizes an intense search alrogithmn, so it may take several minutes before the results window is displayed. This is an extremely powerful and useful function if you are checking the originality of the content you receive from ghostwriters (before you pay them). Also, this function provides an easy way to check the search engine saturation levels of any PLR articles or Public Domain content that you plan to use online. You can even check how many sites are picking up and re-publishing your article, by using this same function. There are many possibilities.

Adsense Ad Checker
Click this button if you are curious as to how well your article is optimized and what kind of Google Adsense ads your article will display within your webpage. Content Composer will display a test ad. The ads won't generate revenue for anyone, but you can still click the links in the ad to see what type of websites are being advertised in the ad.

Export Article

Selecting Export Article Unformatted tool (offered from the File menu), will export your articles as a plain text file, while selecting Export Article Formatted will save your article with the #Title field, #Description field, and #Keywords field included, like in the example below.

This feature is valuable for those who need to generate HTML pages (with other software) based on the values of these fields.

If you happen to be connected to the Internet while using Content Composer, or while using Content Composers Search for Content feature, you can check for program updates by selecting this option from the Help menu. If an update is available, youll be prompted to accept it - which once complete, brings Content Composer up to date without any extra effort on your part at all. Theres nothing to install and you dont have to restart anything. Best of all, Content Composer updates are FREE!
