USCIS Forms - Citizenship and Naturalization Based Forms

USCIS provides most of the immigrant and non-immigrant forms through the website, which are free of cost. USCIS provides detailed instructions about all the immigration and the Naturalization forms. Information about the fees and the location to file the forms are provided by the USCIS. USCIS Forms based on Green Card, Naturalization, citizenship, employment, adoption and humanitarian benefits can be obtained online. Forms that are related to Naturalization ad citizenship are N-400, N-600, N-565, N-470, N-648, N-300, N-426, N336 and N-644. These forms are used for various purposes based on Naturalization and Citizenship. N-400, Application for Naturalization Naturalization is a process through which US citizenship is granted to a foreign national. To apply for Naturalization the the applicant must fulfill all the eligibility requirements constituted by Congress, in the Immigration and Nationality Act. If the foreign citizen is found to be eligible for US citizenship, he can apply for Naturalization by filing Form N400. N-600, Application for Certificate of Citizenship This form may be filed by an individual in order to document his US citizenship status based on his US citizen parentage. N-565, Application for Replacement Naturalization/Citizenship Document Form N-565 can be filed to apply for a replacement of the Certificate of Citizenship, Declaration of Intention, Repatriation Certificate or the Naturalization Certificate. It can also be filed to apply for a special certificate of Naturalization in order to be recognized as an American citizen by a foreign country N-470, Application to Preserve Residence for Naturalization Purposes A lawful permanent resident may intend to leave the US and stay abroad for a year or more, for certain purposes like employment offer overseas. If he wishes to pursue Naturalization, he must preserve his status in the United States an an immigrant. Hence, to do so, he can file Form N-470, in order to obtain approval to preserve residency, before leaving the United States.

N-648, Medical Certification for Disability Exceptions An individual who seeks an exemption to the English and Civics components of the Naturalization test, due to physical disability or mental impairment can file this form. This form must be certified by medical doctors or clinical psychologists licensed to practice in the United States. N-426, Request for Certification of Military or Naval Service This form may be filed by the current or former members of the US armed forces. This form must be completed and certified by the applicant and the certifying official. This form will then serve as an authenticated certification of the applicants military service. Through this, the applicant's service in the US armed forces will be verified by the Department of Defense. N-300, Application to File Declaration of Intention This form my be filed by the lawful permanent resident of the United States, above the age of 18. This form is not mandatory for Naturalization, but certain states in America require the Declaration of Intention, if the applicant wishes to conduct a certain business or to acquire certain licenses in that state. N-336, Request for a Hearing on a Decision in Naturalization Proceedings This form may be filed, if you request a hearing before an Immigration officer on an unfavorable judgment related to your Naturalization application. To request for a hearing, you must file your request with the USCIS, within 30 days from the date of receiving the decision. N-644, Application for Posthumous Citizenship United States grants citizenship for non US citizens who die as a result of an injury caused due to active duty with the armed forces of the United States. Eligible dependents of the deceased veteran such as parents, spouse, children and siblings may apply for posthumous citizenship by filing Form N-644. In order to apply for posthumous citizenship the application must be filed within two years, from the death of the veteran.
