SighIts How I Feel, But I am Compelled to Try with Some Thoughts About Occupying Things

His sigh was very audible as he closed his laptop. Sue heard it across the room and lowered her book to look at him and think. She saw that he was staring off into space. She knew from previous experiences with Bill that he had a kidney stone that needed to pass. She bit. So, are you going to tell me what is bothering you? she asked timidly. Oh, its just all of these protests. After several seconds of silence she knew that she needed to coax him out of his shell, she needed to get him talking and she asked, What about them? I thought that you liked them. I did, he answered bluntly. You did? What does that mean? Well, I think that they are a waste of time and effort. I cant help to think that they are just helping the monkeys on our backs. Sue knew he was talking about the plutocracy. But, now he had really piqued her interest. She needed to definitely find out his thoughts now. Could you give a little more detail? You have me standing on a cliff now. I think that they are trying their best but it is just playing into the plutocracys hands. I dont think that they are having any impact whatsoever, he replied. Now stop that! she snapped. Sue was pissed. Bill could tell. Okay, okay, I mean that they are getting no coverage. They are just groups of people walking around with banners and those stupid Guy Fawkes masks. I mean, who are they after? Is it King James, Parliament, or John Hurt? They are marching and causing large sums of money to be spent. As you know when you spend money, it is someone elses income. Out of every dollar spent, up to 70% of it goes to the pockets of the plutocracy. What do you mean spending money? asked Sue with a smile like she was about to trounce on Bills theory.

Well, you have the costs of sending messages to one anothercommunication. You have the costs of the transportation to the protest sites. You have the cost of feeding the protesters. You have the costs of all of their banners, signs, Guy Fawkes masks. You have the costs of living arrangements. You have the costs of the police, military, and paramilitary. You have the cost of security. You have the legal costs. You have the cleanup costs and hospitalization and prison. All I know is that there seems to be a lot of money to be made off of these protests and they are accomplishing little because the media isnt giving them the exposure. Yet, they are giving the Plutocrats the ammunition to pressure the governments into enforcing more and more restrictive ordinances. Sue didnt know what to say. She thought about it. She hadnt really thought of it that way. But, she knew that he was right. So, what do you suggest that we do? she asked thoughtfully. Throughout history, only two things have really made a true difference in getting the undivided attention of those in power. Would you just get to the point and stop this! yelled Sue after a several second pause. Bill smiled and said, Did you see? See what? shot back Sue looking at Bill like he had popped a fused. You are reacting because of my shutting you off, said Bill with a big smile. What? asked Sue. On Aventine Hill the Roman Army won in the fight against the plutocracy which was strangling Rome, because they up and left. They refused to listen, they refused to follow. The Plutocracy jumped on it because they knew that they needed these plebeians to do the work for them and to make the money from. The plutocracy gave in to all of the demands immediately when the Soldiers and their families told them that they could have Rome and the Soldiers and their families were going to start their own city. When George Washington took over the Continental Army, he made all of these demands which the soldiers didnt think were right. One half of the Army left and George immediately sat down to negotiate and compromise. When the Black Plague ravished Europe causing a major labor shortage, you see the world of serfdom arise. Civil Rights Leaders learned from the mastery of the tool by Gandhi. It was Gandhis peaceful resistance and refusing to follow the demands of the plutocracy of British India that

brought Mountbatten to the table leading to independence of India. With the use of boycotts and strikes did King and his followers really make an impact. It was only when the labor movements of the early 20th Century stopped working, coupled with the 1917 Revolution did those in power start taking them seriously. Oh, and granted the vote to women. So, what you are saying is that we should do boycotts and general strikes. Exactly, it is only when those in power lose their income or their labor do you see them spring to actions to compromise. Only when they are in the grip of fear of having to actually work, do they spring to action to get things as close to normal as quickly as possible. Romney can look to his Job Creator fairy tale as much as possible, but his Job Creators did not create the buildings, design and build the machinery, build the roads, educate the workers, create the products, stock the shelves, build and manage the hotels, guard and defend their assets, do the marketing, run the registers all themselves. Ford, Hershey, Walton, and many others realized this. They understood that it took the dedication and hard work of many. They understood that if they took care of their employees and communities, they would take care of Ford, Hershey, and Walton. That is very true, conceded Sue thoughtfully. I think that we need to do a three day general strike and three day boycott. I think that we all need to cancel our insurance. Which one? asked Sue. All of them, answered Bill. That would definitely get their attention. But okay, you have their attention, what would you do next? I mean, obviously those tactics did cause change but things slipped back to the same old thing over and over. Very true, answered Bill with a sigh, Things have got to change. I would suggest the following to get rid of the Romney Job Creator fairy tale and get the monkey known as a plutocracy off of our backs: Employee Ownership of corporations. The management would be elected by the employees. Management would have a strong desire to invest time and effort into the employees. Forces employees to develop because they have to run a corporation. They more than likely will because they will take pride in their ownership. Corporations would be more responsive to the local communities. Money generated by the corporation would be recycled to the blue collar levels

which truly drive economies ending the problem of capital flight. Or they could be co-ops which I believe creates the same end results. Eliminate Insurancecommunities can learn to take care of themselves. There was a time when friends, neighbors, families, communities looked out for one anotheractually according to most historians; a couple of million years before someone figure out a way to use fear to make money off of a persons misfortune. Not to mention, if medical industries were exposed to the free market forces, things would be straightened out fast or doctors and greedy administrators will be on the curb selling pencils. And why is a doctor paid so much anyway? Why is he so more deserving than the people who built the hospital, ambulances, roads to the hospital, supply the hospital with power, produce the supplies for the hospital, keeps the hospital safe and sterile, does the research, makes the medicine, or removes the sewage, waste from the hospital and many, many others which make the hospital and the doctor and nurses all possible? What is wrong with putting total responsibility for ones actions on that person? Besides, if an insurance company ever actually did what they make themselves out to be, they would put themselves out of business anyway. I guess that is why so many pump so much money into our politics. A flat tax written in stone. 10% straight across the board. Everyone pays the exact same rate. No loopholes, no exemptions, no special schedules. People need to be active in their government. That has been the purpose of the Constitution. Politicians are held accountablein fact, I would go as far as to say that their pay should be dependent on the income and well-being of their constituents. And what the Hell is this about politicians being above the lawabsolutely not. Spitzer would be in jail with the anti-John law that he created. Sanford would be in jail. Ted Kennedy would have had a lot more done to him instead of just losing his license. Social Programs would be run on the local level instead of being huge cash cows for politicians unskilled, untalented relatives to find a job. Besides, who knows more about your needs, some bureaucrat or the people in your community? It would promote unity by communities coming togetherafter all, a community is only as strong as its weakest link. A major emphasis on education with strong math, reading, language, English, Spanish, social study, sciences, economics, geography, civics, history, art, physical education, team building programs. Lets not forget a huge list of electives. A major thing would be that people need to be involved with the government.

Our government and businesses need to stop manipulating and trying to control other nations governments and economies. Then maybe, we wont have to worry about Terrorists.

Okay, sounds like a start. It is only a start. The biggest thing would be convincing a nation of sheep that what is being call efficiency is not true. Acres and thousands of acres of dumps are not efficiency. Millions of people behind bars in prisons is not efficient. Thousands of people being laid off is not efficient. Automation is not necessarily efficient. Slums, Ghettos, or homeless is not acceptable or efficient. I like when Romney talks about eliminating business regulations. The truth is he wants to eliminate them for his plutocratic masters so they can make money. Regulations were imposed because businesses have had a very poor track record in being ethical. Yeah, but it is all coming down. I noticed that Limited Liability Companies or L.L.C.s are on the rise and people are going to them. Hell, the L.L.C. means that even the owners do not believe in their product, added Bill. You know, corporations spend billions trying to sway public opinion and policy. Yet, if they would just put that much emphasis on their employees, businesses, environment, and communities, they wouldnt have half the regulations. They wouldnt have to worry about strikes, lawsuits, sabotage, and so forth. Sigh, said Bill audibly. What now? Unfortunately, people like businesses, like politicians, like everyone will always lock on to the easiest, well, what they think is the easiest solution. Yeah, said Sue, Imagine a world where people actually challenged themselves. A world where people were more important than money, luxury, and plastic shining things. I think that would be a wonderful place, but I think that is a very long way off if at all possible.
