Objectives The workshop aims to raise awareness, build capacity and share experience on mainstreaming gender in transport sector

operations in Mekong countries amongst transport sector officials, and select ADB/AusAID transport sector colleagues. By the end of the workshop, participants will: Understand the importance of mainstreaming gender in the transport sector, and appreciate the scope of gender issues as they relate to different modes of transport. Understand that gender mainstreaming helps address other dimensions of social inclusion. Improve understanding of how to apply gender analysis to transport project design, including through preparation of quality project Gender Action Plans (GAPs), and integration of gender performance targets/indicators into Design and Monitoring Frameworks (DMFs). Improve understanding of how to manage gender-inclusive transport projects, including implementation of GAPs, and monitoring gender results. Shared experiences, good practice case studies and resources on gender and transport.
