Standards Association of New Zealand. It was approved for publication on behalf of
the Council of Standards Australia on 15 July 1992 and on behalf of the Standards
Council of New Zealand on 3 April 1992. It was published on 17 August 1992.

PREFACE

This Standard was prepared by the Standards Australia and Standards Association of New Zealand
Committees on Electromagnetic Interference. It is identical with and has been reproduced from
IEC/CISPR 19:1983, Guidance on the use of the substitution method for measurements of radiation
from microwave ovens for frequencies above 1 GHz, prepared by CISPR Sub-Committee B and is
one of a series of Standards intended to facilitate control of electromagnetic interference and the
compatibility of electrical and electronic equipment. It is issued as a joint Standard under the terms
of the Memorandum of Understanding between Standards Australia and the Standards Association
of New Zealand with the objective of reducing technical barriers to trade between the two nations.
Under arrangements made between Standards Australia and the international Standards bodies, ISO
and IEC, as well as certain other Standards organizations, users of this Australian Standard are
advised of the following:
